Rating: Summary: Couldn't put it down! Review: The Hawk and the Jewel was the first Lori Wick book I have read, and I was so impressed! The suspense and the captivating story line and setting were enough to make me forget the world outside and read for many hours straight. The frustration of wondering whether Sunny and Brandon will really end up together was worth it all by the end of this wonderful book. And the way Wick intertwines the Bible and Christianity with the stories was very refreshing and welcome.
Rating: Summary: Couldn't put it down!!!! Review: The Kensington Chronicles is one of the best Christian series I've read in a long time. The Hawk and the Jewel is the first book in the series. It was great to watch Brandon and Sunny grow, but sometimes I wanted to scream because it took them both so long to get there feelings out. Oh, well I guess you have to have that Dramatic Climax to make a good book.
Rating: Summary: :) Review: The Kensington Chronicles series is Wick's best work, in my opinion. The somewhat pathetic fact is that before ever reading the prologue, first chapter, or what have you, I was hooked. The simple few sentences that she uses to introduce the time period had me addicted, and I've read every single one that I could get my hands on. I sincerely hope that she keeps up the excellent work!
Rating: Summary: Wonderful reading Review: This book captured my interest, as most Lori Wick books do. Sunny and Brandon were engaging characters, and I found myself humored with Sunny's constant exploits and adventures. I did find that Ms. Wick did talk quite a bit of Sunny's beauty, and the fact that Sunny didn't recognize it was usual. Some girls are told that they are beautiful, but don't believe it. I also found that Ms. Wick also told us often that Sunny could hide her emotions so well that no one could tell what she was thinking. I wish I could hide my emotions that well. Considering where Sunny spent her first thirteen years, this seems quite logical to me. I liked how Ms. Wick didn't have Sunny fall into Brandon's arms the first time he kissed her. This book was great reading! Please, do waste a few hours on this book!
Rating: Summary: A Great Book! Review: This book expresses how well Lori Wick writes. I have read this book over and over and loved it more and more every time. I enjoyed this book and encourage you to read the Californians series, the Proposal, Pretense, Bamboo and Lace, the Yellow Rose Trilogy, and the Princess.
Rating: Summary: Wow! Review: This book is absolutely stunning. The emotions felt as Sunny is taken from the only home she remembers are so real, so awesome. And as the book unravels, and the reader learns why things happened as they did, it is awesome. Not to mention the awesome romance between "The Hawk and the Jewel."
Rating: Summary: The wonderful power of love Review: This book is an excellent piece of fiction. Lori Wick's characters were so well developed, I felt I knew them. The wonderful storyline clearly showed God's redeeming grace and the extraordinary power of love. This was a great book to read (many times over in fact)and I recommend it to everyone, man or woman.
Rating: Summary: AWESOME! Review: This book is sooooo good. I am a newer Christian and this made me feel even closer to the Lord. I fell in love with Sunny and Brandon, and I felt all the characters pain. This was a really good book!
Rating: Summary: Captivating!! Review: This book was captivating! Lori Wick does a tremendous job of character development. This book somewhat models A Place Called Home in the plot line, but she does a much better job of suspense writing in this book. This story has everything in it, suspense, romance, heartbreak, death, sadness, forgiveness, and is rich in cultural knowledge. The beginning and ending were pageturners, the middle of the book moved a little slowly but was important for development of the story. Overall, a very strong writing job by Lori Wick.
Rating: Summary: Wonderful!! Review: This is a great book and I'd reccommend it to anyone. it's hard to find well written romances with Christian values, but this is definitely it! Everything I've ever read by Lori Wick has been great, but I especially like this series.
