Summary: HER BEST YET!!!!
Review: I've read all three now, and I loved all three, and I am keeping all three! But this one was the best! Marcus and Avalon are _incredible_, so, so sexy, and the romance between them was breathtaking. His wooing of her was both convincing and touching. This lady sure can write!! Passion and emotion and deep, deep intensity. Can't think of another author quite like her out there. Can't wait for more books from her.

Summary: Beautiful, Beautiful, Beautiful
Review: This book was a Rita Finalist for Romance Writer's of America and it deserves it. An interesting mix of fantasy and romance and martial arts. Set in the Scottish highlands, in an old castle, loads of atmosphere. But its not dark as much as it is darkly gorgeous. Abe writes with great feeling for both the hero and heroine, which is unusual. Usually the heroine in medievals is believable but the hero always needs work. Not here, Both Avalon and Marcus were understandable and interesting. The legend of the bride was an elegant touch and made their chemistry that much more believable. Avalon is especially unusual as a character. At first you wonder why she acts the way she does but then the backstory is revealed, very naturally, and everything comes together. She makes sense, and you feel for her. She actually has more of a typical hero's role, she is strong and lonely and can take care of herself. That makes Marcus more intriguing too, as he is the only one who could be her match. This is a magical story, truly one of Abe's best works. The writing is excellent and you want to savor it. A keeper.

Summary: The Truelove Bride
Review: This has the outline of a good story, but it is 2-dimensional. With all the possiblities set up by the author, the characters fall flat and are uninteresting.

For lovers of the "steel blue eyes, the square jaw, the sardonic smile" of the hero, and the "uncontrolable trembling" of the heroine, this might be just the thing, but for anyone who wants to get to know and care for the characters, this is a disappointment.

I didn't finish it. I got bored. Sorry.

Summary: A VERY GOOD BOOK
Review: What a beautiful love story. I could hardly put it down. This is the first book I have read by this author, but I plan to read eveything she has written. . .A very good read for sure. If you want to read another book that goes straight to your heart, read Stolen Moments by Barbara Jeanne Fisher. . .It is a beautiful story of unrequited love. . .for certain the love story of the nineties. I intended to give the book a quick read, but I got so caught up in the story that I couldn't put the book down. From the very beginning, I was fully caught up in the heart-wrenching account of Julie Hunter's battle with lupus and her growing love for Don Lipton. This love, in the face of Julie's impending death, makes for a story that covers the range of human emotions. The touches of humor are great, too, they add some nice contrast and lighten things a bit when emotions are running high. I've never read a book more deserving of being published. It has rare depth. Julie's story will remind your readers that life and love are precious and not to be taken for granted. It has had an impact on me, and for that I'm grateful. Stolen Moments is written with so much sensitivity that it made me want to cry. It is a spellbinder. What terrific writing. Barbara does have an exceptional gift!

Summary: A rare treasure, don't miss this one
Review: Wow! I don't know how to better start this review than with that exclamation. I really enjoyed reading Avalon and Marcus's story. Here are two people who find themselves in an interesting situation and watching them accept their "fate" is fascinating.

By far the most complex of the characters is our lead female, Avalon. We see her as compassionate yet strong person who has many battles to overcome (both figuratively and literally). She fights her "guardian", her cousin, her lover, her fate and worst of all, herself. For 95% of the book she struggles with the question "who am I?". Woman, legend, lover, pawn. Marcus, on the other hand, learns about himself early on (prior to our story, though we get glimpses of what forms our hero's character) and accepts his position in life. He is a great lead male who uses what he's been given in life to better his clan and himself. Although Avalon can't accept it, Marcus loves her early on in the story and sticks by his feelings.

With witty dialogue and colorful secondary characters, this book is a joy to read from page one through to the end. I am not sure what this genre of books are called, paranormal?, myths and legends?, gifted?, fantasy?, or maybe Ms. Abe has created a category of her own. This book is different and keeps the imagination flowing. Be sure to pick up this one.
