Summary: Couldn't Put It Down
Review: This book was great! Throughout the beginning and middle, I laughed out loud too many times to count. Carolyn is daring and bold, and Sverayov fits her perfectly. Some of her antics and ruses and the way Sverayov handles them are absolutely hilarious! I definitely recommend this book. This was the first Brenda Joyce book I've read, but definitely not the last!

Summary: Splendor is SPENDID!!
Review: This is my first book by Brenda Joyce but it will not be my last. and I am very glad that I do not read reviews before I decide what to read becuz some of the reviews here were surprisingly not as favorable as I felt the book was. I thought Nicholas and Caroline were a true tortured couple that kept fighting to survive their love. When I realized what short time had passed from when they first met to the end of the book it is hard to encompass all the difficulties they lived and loved through. I thought both Nicholas and Caroline were beautifully written and their love story a heartfelt one indeed. I will now buy more of Brenda Joyes's novels!!

Summary: not great
Review: This is the first and last book by Brenda Joyce that I will ever read. The characters were boring and without strength or anything even interesting really. For instance, Carolyn Browne is a tall and scrawny girl with short hair who dresses up like a man and practically drools over her love interest by letting him take her virginity without a care and then following him halfway around the world even though he is already married. It's just not very romantic or picturesque at all. I personally like to read romance novels that have a hint of fantasy in them where the characters are strong and fit well together. These characters seem to need psychological help and the writing is bad too.

Summary: Splendor
Review: This my favorite of her Regency series. It was tough because The Rival and Finer Things are also fantastic. This is not your usual romance novel. Brenda Joyce is not the usual romance writer.Lisa Kleypas and Kat Martin are the only other two that can write this well. The characters in this book are unusual, the plot twists and turns have me in constant suspense. I could not put it down. I wish that she would write more of these and please put The Prince and Carolyn Browne back as secondary characters.

Summary: I'm now hooked on Brenda Joyce
Review: This was the first book I've read by Brenda Joyce. I'm a devoted fan of Judith McNaught and Julie Garwood but I needed a new author for the time in between new releases, and I am so happy I've found Brenda Joyce. I loved this book. I simply could not put it down. I laughed out loud and even got teary-eyed. It was a delight to read.

Since then I've picked up five other Brenda Joyce novels and I'm looking forward to the others. And I do agree that there needs to be a sequel.

Summary: Ten! Ten! Ten!
Review: What a beautiful love story! When I purchased this novel, I thought it would be just ANOTHER romance novel. I had purchased it to help fill in the long hours of being cooped up aboard a plane for several hours. The love story is a little like Dr. Zhivago, but with a happy ending (and a different era, of course). This is a highly emotional and deeply moving love story that deserves nothing less than a 10.
