Rating: Summary: TOTALLY UNREALISTIC Review: Im 17 and I read this book within six hours while admited in hospital. the topic the author chose to write about is supposeed to be difficulties ppl come across with interacial dating but it comes across as sex between black woman and white man. Jazz dosent represent a black woman in any way as one minute she's not cool with white men n d same night she's accepts to dance with one and gets all horny immediately. she's also more desperate to sleep with him than he does. Also, they had it too easy with the way arguments were sorted, the way her friends were ALWAYS there for her, she easily makes up with her friend at work, she also makes up with patty sooooo easily, and greg (who had been well developed and was a strong character) suddenly changes and becomes "sorry and happy for her" and most importantly, Jasmine and Jeremy NEVER ARGUE OR FIGHT. the sex is also too perfect...... which NEVER happens in a real world...plus if her mother wouldnt die in hospital, why d hell did they bring that up! this book really annoyed me and i left it at the hospital.
Rating: Summary: Absolutely Superb..... Review: Jeremy, a white author swiftly falls deeply in love with Jasmine (Jazz), a black bank executive. Jasmine's uncertain she has what it takes to make an interracial relationship work and most of her family & friends don't think it's worth the scorn of society. Take an hour so to read this great book. Even though it's short--the interesting storyline keeps you turning the pages. Once I started it, I couldn't put it down.... Keep in mind this is not reality-its fiction so comparing it to reality is a little unfair to the author.
Rating: Summary: Interracial love story Review: No romantic relationship before sex...book to read on a rainy day
Rating: Summary: Loved It! Review: Read this book in one sitting... which is very unusual for me. had a great story and love wins out in the end over prejudice and stereotype.Jasmine made the right choice!!!
Rating: Summary: It could have been better Review: Shade of Desire was missing something, it lacked a good story line. Jasmine was so eager to sleep with this man it made me sick. Being a black woman I didn't relate to this woman at all. The book was ok but it just lack that something. The story was over before it begin, we didn't have time to get to know the characters before they were sleeping together. Every thing moved too fast for me.
Rating: Summary: To Simple Review: The best part of this book was the cover two very attractive people. However the chacters where not at all explored. They where so one demintional no depth at all . I mean within 134 very redundent pages these two meet fell in love and married so unrealistics. If I had to read the term why are you with this "white Man" again I would have earled.
Rating: Summary: Cheesy Review: The characters in this book move way too fast. It seems like they go from dating to getting married in about a week. Nice try though, and it's almost worth reading for the cheesy dialogue and situations.
Rating: Summary: Don't waste time on this one Review: The female character was very weak. The book was OK but the female character was so annoying. I liked No Commitment Required better.
Rating: Summary: Moved too fast Review: The first problem I had with this novel is that it moved too fast. I felt that the characters never developed. Greg's, Jasmine's brother, feeling I couldn't grasp except that they were needed to be the obstacle in the story. I didn't feel that they were in the content of his character from the way Jasmine describes him earlier. Her girlfriend, Danielle, just gets written off as a jealous woman who can't get a man. Jasmine slept with Jeremy after two or three phone calls and one official date! She managed this 180 degree turn from the first chapter when she doubting whether she could be in an interracial relationship. Not just that but she recently came out of a long term relationship in which the man cheated on her. So, she turns around and sleeps with the first man (Jeremy) to show her interest? Even though she is saying that she wants to have a relationship with Jeremy and that she thought about everything before she sleeps with him? I don't buy it. A good book to read where there is a Black woman and white man is The Real Deal.
Rating: Summary: I really did not feel this book as a young black woman. Review: This book lacked a plot, heavily. I think it would have been less drowsy if there was some adventure or even danger in the story line. Also, I find it hard to believe that she would have jumped into bed with him that quick. The black women I know, wouldn't. All in all I can tell that it was the authors first book. I hope she does better in her future novels.
