Rating: Summary: Great book in many ways Review: I found Brockmann either on the RITA list or on an AMAZON recommended list - I'm not sure which, but I was looking for some new authors to feed my appetiite for good writing. And Suzanne Brockmann is a great find. I now am working my way through her published list. But this book is the best so far. I read romance and science fiction and rarely do I find a book that combines the two really well. . . one that is good science fiction and still has the elements of romance that I like. (Many romance authors really don't have a grasp of the need to start with a science fiction premise and then extrapolate in a credible manner to an end point that allows an intelligent reader to logically and willing suspend disbelief so to enjoy the read.) Brockmann's idea, that in time travel when the past is changed, people actually are aware of the old time line - like faintly remembered daydreams - is one of the best solutions to this hoary science fiction problem I've come across. It may or may not be new to her, but she used it really well in this story which is still a good romance . Excellent stuff - and one of the reasons I'm persuing her other books. FYI - I also am enjoying her S.E.A.L books in Silhouttte's Intimate Moments Tall, Dark and Dangerous series. She is the only author I read in series romances unless the books are early writings by big name authors. I think Brockmann will be one of those and these are her "early" writings.
Rating: Summary: Great book Review: If you know someone who's skeptical about how much good writing could be packed into "those little books," give him or her this one. This is simply one of the best short romances I've ever read. Fans of Connie Willis and similar speculative SF authors will love it as well. Nominated for the prestigious RITA award.
Rating: Summary: Romantic Times Review Review: Trust Suzanne Brockmann to come up with a fiendishly clever time-travel twist to leave readers breathless with excitement in TIME ENOUGH FOR LOVE (4.5). A lovely freelance writer is startled to discover a naked man pounding on her back door and even more shocked by his claim to be a famous scientist from the future determined to prevent a disaster caused by his invention of time travel. Ms. Brockmann handles the myriad tricky questions inherent in such a plot with admirable ease and makes sure that love conquers all with grace and courage. A keeper!
Rating: Summary: Great little romance packed with a good story line... Review: You know I really enjoyed this one. It's an oldie but a goodie to me and one that I really recommend. I normally don't read time travel romances but I am glad I gave this one a chance. Chuck has invented a time travel capsule and has travelled into the past hoping to change the event that took place and save the life of his sweetheart who was killed during a "take over." Chuck lands in Maggie's backyard naked. Boy, is that hard to explain. Though he is ten years ahead of the time he is still great looking and Maggie hasn't met the young Chuck yet. The older Chuck has to convince Maggie to convince the younger Chuck not to invent the time capsule to keep from landing in wrong hands that plan on controling the world with it. Romance is mixed with science fiction. A great little read!
