Rating: Summary: Fun & Sassy Review: Cat Lang is more than half in love with Luke Quintain. Unfortunately, he's engaged to her stepsister. When her stepsister dumps him to marry her high school sweetheart, she tags Cat to deliver the bad news. But every cloud has a silver lining and the silver lining here is that Luke wasn't marrying for love but to fulfill his grandfather's positively medievel demands. When Cat suggests she could take her stepsister's place, Luke says 'No.' and then he says it a couple more times before his libido overrides his common sense and he starts saying 'Yes.' Cat is a sharp and funny heroine. She's betting her heart on the outcome of a marriage of convenience. Luke is sexy and stubborn. He's sure he knows how his marriage will turn out but his years of business dealings haven't prepared him for one long-legged redhead with bedroom eyes and a smile that goes straight to the heart he'd almost forgotten he had. There's a secondary romance that's a little out of the ordinary and happy endings all around.
Rating: Summary: Good reading Review: I enjoyed this title, my only problem was Cat's (the main female character) age. So as not to step on anyones tender toes, I will just say I would have preferred she be portrayed as about a decade older since that is how she behaved. I am in my mid-30's and enjoy reading about characters around my own age.
Rating: Summary: disappointing Review: I have not read a Dallas Shulze book in a while, so I was pleased to find a title I haven't read before. The book starts off well. The main characters are funny, the plot line engaging. But, about half way through the book the main characters best friends, both male, start a relationship. From there on I was turned off by the book. I skimmed to the end to find out how the main characters ended up. The next morning I threw the book in the trash. It is definately not a re-read.
Rating: Summary: I have to disagree, I LIKED IT! Review: I have to disagree with Disappointing's review. I liked the book very much. The fact that there was a subplot involving the relationship between the two male best friends certainly did not ruin the book for me. There was so much more to the book. Dallas Schulze delivers, once again, an enjoyable, touching romance with engaging characters. I look forward to her next publication!

Rating: Summary: Excellent Read - A Keeper Review: I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The romance of both the main and sub-characters was very entertaining. I did not put this book down once I started it and I finished it in one night.
Rating: Summary: Good reading Review: I've been enjoying Ms. Schulze's books for many years and kept many of them to re-read at a later date. This one's a keeper! The author creates character's that talk like real people, and have real emotions, real problems, and grow and change like real people. I enjoyed the romance between the two main characters, but, I also was fascinated at the development of a secondary romance between two male characters in the story. They were both interesting and likable characters when they first appeared on the scene and I found the development of their relationship to be very believable. I particularly enjoy the humor and the always witty dialog in Ms. Schulze's books. I highly recommend THE SUBSTITUTE WIFE.

Rating: Summary: My first by this author Review: There are things I really liked about this book, and things I really hated. Likes - Cat is a strong, funny character whom I really cheered for. I also liked the side story with Keith and Jack. Dislikes - Luke had me totally charmed until he almost did something unforgiveable (the fact that he got caught in time did nothing to redeem him, or the author for thinking it up). And Schulze has a much too liberal use of italics in dialogue that about drove me crazy. I'll try one more of her books, but if she keeps that up it will be my last. I'd like to rate it 3 1/2 stars but since I can't I'm going with 3 for the simple fact that I will likely never re-read it, as I would with a 4 star.
Rating: Summary: Funny and romantic! Review: This book had 2 great plots- the main plot was about Luke marrying Cat for his inheritance and Cat marrying Luke because she fell in love with him at first sight. She had to hide it from him because Luke was not interested in love but everyone else guessed it almost from the beginning. Luke was protective about Cat and lusted after her but he started to develop feelings that scared him. Of course there is a twist- Luke was engaged to Cat's step-sister before she ran away with her high school sweetheart. But when she comes back, and is interested in Luke, the drama begins. The second plot (which became more interesting than the main plot) was about Cat's best friend (Jack) and Luke's best friend (Keith). Jack is gay and Keith starts to question his own sexuality when he finds himself drawn to him. Both romances were sweet and romantic. There was a lot of humor in the book and of course real-life is a lot more complicated but that is not why we read these books!
