Rating: Summary: Very enjoyable medieval romance Review: Gareth & Margery are engaging characters with both vices & virtues. Gareth's visions are a predictable fault for this sub-genre as is his hatred of her brothers, but Callen handles it well and makes him more than those cookie-cutter features would indicate. His nobility & honor intrigue. Margery manages to be both independent & needy, reckless & responsible. She's a strong character who makes a good match for this knight. The love story remains interesting, even though the lead characters are sometimes so stubborn you want to smack some sense into them. And the last 1/3 of the book, especially the ending is sweet & lovely & very romantic. There's no true villain in the piece; it's primarily a love story and needs nothing else to bolster it.

Rating: Summary: Disappointment, sigh... Review: He is fostering child that save the daughter of the keep in a siege, but his closeness to the girl causes the brothers to send him away. Cursed by visions since childhood, no Lord wishes him to make his way, so he bounces around France and England making a living as a mercenary and in tournaments. Hating that Margery and her brothers turned him away after he saved and protected her. Margery Wells has been granted lands by Henry, but also the unique honour of selecting her own husband. This makes her the object of every unwed knight in England. Visions warn Gareth of her danger so he returns to protect her. She hires him for same reason, but asks he pretend to be suitor. I have liked Callen's other works, so was disappointed with this.
Rating: Summary: A FABULOUS READ Review: I cried at the end of this brilliant book, and I NEVER cry! Ms. Callen's characters really came alive for me, and I read this beautifully written story in one sitting. This is the third book I've read of hers, and I'm never disappointed. I can't wait for her next book. She is a rising star in the medieval romance genre.
Rating: Summary: Wicked romantic Review: In 1475 England, due to the strange visions he always suffered, Gareth Beaumont saved the life of eight-year old Margery Welles when treachery left her in peril. However, her brothers never trusted a Beaumont, including Gareth, and he soon began a life of a mercenary exile. Now a dozen years later, Gareth awakens from sleep knowing that that Margery is back in trouble. Although he would prefer to pretend this was a dream, he knows the Beaumont curse has sent him a vision that he cannot ignore because of his oath to Lord Welles. He travels to Margery,s home where he learns the King has granted her permission to marry anyone she chooses. She asks her childhood friend to protect her from unsavory suitors by acting as her fiancé. However, soon love enters the picture even if he is not her equal. The third installment in Gayle Callen's exciting medieval romance trilogy, MY LADY'S GUARDIAN, is an entertaining story filled with action and tension. The story line moves rapidly forward due to the antics of the engaging lead couple. As with Ms. Callen's previous novels, THE DARKEST KNIGHT and A KNIGHT'S VOW, fans of the sub-genre will relish a tale that highlights the thrilling heart-thumping elements that make historical romances so enjoyable. Rating: Summary: weak third in a trilogy Review: The third in her series, following "the Darkest Knight" then there was "A Knight's Vow" two brothers' stories. This is the sister's story. He is foster child who saved the daughter of the keep in a siege, but his closeness to the girl causes the brothers to send him away. Cursed by visions since childhood, no Lord wishes him a squire, so has to make his way in the world, so he bounces around France and England making a living as a mercenary and in tournaments. He grows up hating that Margery and her brothers turned him away after he saved and protected her. Margery Wells has been granted lands by Henry, but also the unique honour of selecting her own husband. This makes her the object of every unwed knight in England. Visions warn Gareth of her danger so he returns to protect her. She hires him for same reason, but asks he pretend to be suitor to keep the others as bay. I have liked Callen's other two works, just this one seemed rather flat. However, if you have read to other two in the series I am sure you will want to end the trilogy.

Rating: Summary: A good wrap to the trilogy Review: This is the 3rd book in the series. It all started with "the Darkest Knight" then there was "A Kinght's Vow" which are the heroine's two brothers stories. The heroine, Lady Margery has made appearances in the other two books so it was nice to read her story. It starts off as a flashback to when the heroine and hero were both children. The hero, Gareth is fostering at her fathers keep when it falls under attack. Gareth is asked by the Lord to keep Margery safe. He does but when its all over he is sent away from Margery by her older brothers. 12 years later, Gareth returns convinced that Margery is in danger and that he must protect her. Margery, now grown has been given a great privilege by the king. To choose her own husband. She is soon swamped by perspective bridegrooms and when Gareth comes to her aid she is comforted and happy to see her old friend. Gareth poses as onw of the would be prospects to insure her safety. Margery has a secret though that is tearing her apart and only Gareth can help her with it. Along the way they fall in love but both know it can neer be. This is a good enjoyable story that will make you want to read more of this authors work.

Rating: Summary: A FABULOUS READ Review: This is the first book by this author I have read. It was most enjoyable. I loved Gareth and Margery. The story was a little predictable, but the fairy tale ending was still satisfying. I will read other books by this author.
