Rating: Summary: Beyond The Horizon by Connie Mason Review: A book that keeps you interested from start to finish!Red and white, Indian and settler, male and female, they came together in a fierce clash of wills as the wagon trains rolled ever westward, following the dream of a new life . . . BEYOND THE HORIZON. As the sheltered daughter of the once prosperous Branigan family, beautiful Shannon was ill-prepared for the rigors of the Oregon Trail, but she was still less prepared for half-breed scout, Swift-Blade. His dark eyes seemed to pierce her very soul, stripping away layers of civilization and baring her hidden longing to his savage gaze. His bronzed arms were forbidden to her, his searing kisses just a tantalizing fantasy; but as the countless miles passed beneath the wagon wheels, taking them to the heart of Indian Territory. Shannon sensed that this untamed land would give her new strength and the freedom to love the man who could fullfill her wild desire. Don't miss the other exciting books related to Swift Blade Stryker and Shannon Branigan... PROMISED SUNRISE by Robin Lee Hatcher tells the love story between Shannon Branigan's brother Tucker Branigan; and A PROMISE OF THUNDER by Connie Mason is the love story of Swift Blade and Shannon's son Grady Stryker and Storm Kennedy.
Rating: Summary: Disappointment Review: As book two of the "Women of the West", I was VERY disappointed in this book. Ms. Mason seems to feel that explicit sex is the only way to keep a reader's interest in a good story. But the other books in the series shows differently. The possibilities of carrying on the Branigan storyline is great, so reader, please continue with the following books of the Branigan family and you wont be disappointed!!

Rating: Summary: Not a great book! Review: Beyond the Horizon is a boring and disappointing book. I didn't like the heroine. She was just too perfect. The hero is a little better, but just when it seems that I could like him, he does or says something stupid. This is Indian romance at its least exciting. I'm given it a 3, because it does have its moments.
Rating: Summary: One Of Ms. Mason's Best. Review: Beyond the Horizon is on of the best of Ms. Masons books. Having the orginal and 2 copies of the new prints of it. It is one story that you enjoy each time you read it. Blade taking on a job as wagon scout (after being ask by the President to find out who is selling guns to the Indians). Shannon joins the wagon train to meet her family , who went ahead of her when she stayed behind to care for a sick aunt. Both not wanting to admit it are attraced to each other. Although Blades tries to disuade her many times, Love wins out and they have many obstacles which they must overcome from both white settlers and the Indians, their love grows stronger as they finally find the happiness they are striving for.
Rating: Summary: Could have been better... Review: I'm a big fan of Connie Mason, however, I found this book to be so so. There is a good plot but I think it gets drawn out unnecessarily. In my opinion, there are too many "just in the nick of time" moments and too many "coincidences". I like romance to have some minute element of believability. My biggest complaint about the book was that there was a lot of unnecessary sex. These people went far beyond the expectations of most rabbits I know. If that had been toned down and the love element more played up, I would have enjoyed the book a great deal more. Still it does have appeal if you're into the oregon trail time period.

Rating: Summary: mind entrancing to read. one of connie mason's best. Review: the characters in this book were vivid and spell binding. connie has once again made the reader beleive in love and romance. i couldn't put it down until i finished it. a must read for all hist. romance fans.
Rating: Summary: DISAPPOINTED! Review: The whole story was actually pretty boring. It had it's moments, but it was the worst book I read so far on Connie Mason. The main point in the story was that Blade was being discriminated beacause he was a indian and because of this, he and Shannon could not be together. And even after they had gotten married, the discrimination included Shannon. It was more on the indian heritage of being outcasted by the white society than a romance novel. I thought Shannon and Blade lusted after each other than felt any love toward each other.
