Review: Miss Davis just keeps getting better and better. Midnight Rain is the story of a man recovering from a personality-altering brain injury and his journey to redeem himself from his past. The questions in the book never stop. Who is the real threat? John or any one of several suspects in the book. The heroine is a kick-butt FBI agents who is not afraid of taking risks when she realizes that an innocent man is being set up. A book you don't want to start late at night unless you can sleep in the next morning....

Review: This book starts with a lot of promise but doesn't quite deliver. Besides this it is still a pretty good book. John Brighton is in Mexico when two thugs shoot him in the head and leave him for dead. Six months later he is about to be discharged from the hospital when he becomes the focus of a murder investigation. Kathleen is a FBI agent sent to be his physical therapist and find out if he is guilty. They are both attracted to each other from the start, but don't want to get hurt. I knew who the bad guy was from the beggining of the book and didn't think this was her best book but its still worth reading. Try the other titles by this author because they are amazing.

Review: This novel opens with John Brighton in a hospital bed, recovering from a gunshot wound to the head after his vacation in Mexico. Yet one of his friends, co-worker, and employee was murdered just after his misfortune, and this has the FBI and other attorneys convinced that John killed him. Katie Cavanaugh is working undercover as John's physical therapist. She was sent to help find incriminating evidence against John that will convict him. However, Katie is attracted to John, and John is attracted to her, but she can't get her emotions mixed up with her job, and when John's brother tells him that the woman he loves is not who he thought she was, his world is turned upside down. Katie and John are on a roller coaster of emotions while trying to prove himself innocent when everyone is convinced that John committed the murder. But in the end the truth is revealed... A great read!!!

Summary: Not Her Best But Still Worth Reading!
Review: This was not one of Ms. Davis's best stories but it is still worth reading. This story was at times hard to read. There were so many possible bad guys, Jason, Frank, maybe Vanessa, or even our hero John that it was hard to tell in which direction the story was going to go and I came close to not caring one way or another. I think that there were too many different side stories and they took away from the main plot. Still the relationship between the two main characters was good and worth reading about. CEO Johnathan Brighton was shot in the head and lives but has memory loss regarding what he was doing the last few days before his shooting. He was found in Mexico and no one close to him claims to know why he was there. FBI agent Katie Cavanaugh has gone under cover to find out what John remembers and what roll he played in the death of one of his employees. She has a past and needs to redeem herself and prove that she has what it takes to be a good agent. Trouble is John and Katie are drawn to each other. How can she be attracted to the suspect? still despite all efforts their attraction is too strong to ignore and they can't stay away from each other. John wants to be a perfect man for Katie. Katie is driven to prove that the love that they feel for each other is not based on lies and that John saw the real Katie not under cover Katie. Again as I stated earlier John and Katie are both likeable characters and their relationship alone was enough to keep me coming back until the end. And isn't that the reason to read a romance? Don't expect the humor that has been in some of her other books, and the suspense although had potential just did not cut it for me. If you are leary about paying for the book pick it up at a library.
