Summary: boring
Review: boring, boring, boring, and I did not like sam at all or Lisa, for that matter, because she put up with sams chauvanistic attitude, especially concerning her money! He is probably one of the worst and unlikable heroes I have ever read.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: O.K. the hero is a jerk!!
Review: But I guess i love jerks. Any way I could suspend disbelief for a few hours and enjoy this book. It is not PC but so what. It was a fun read for me. I really liked the whole african experience but the american part didn't live up to snuff. I hated the rushed end but still it was o.k. Nothing great but good for an escape from the norm.

Summary: I cannot believe everyone loved this book
Review: I am a big fan of Ms.Robards books but I really did not care for this one. The heroine wanted to be respected by the hero, but she continually threw herself on him when she hardly knew him. Come on! And as for him, when, after they declared their true feelings for each other,he ranted at her and called her a "bit..",well,I gave up.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Not her best
Review: I am a big Robards fan but struggled to finish this one. While there is electric sexual chemisty between the couple, neither is particulary attractive as a human being. Sam is domineering to the point of cruelty, and Lisa is spoiled and much too defensive. I just couldn't make myself care about whether or not true love would conquer all this time.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Incredible
Review: I have read all of Karen Robards' books and this one is the best

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: What a pathetically desperate heroine
Review: I just can't relate to a heroine who throws herself at a man who repeatedly insults her and, in one scene, actually rapes her (no, not the token-resistance-but-ultimate-capitualtion-type rape --- but the real thing). The spinelessness and lack of pride will make you want to hurl. I couldn't even finish the it.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Excellent and sizzling book
Review: I loved this book! I read it twice. Once when it was published and about a week ago. It takes you away from reality and you get involved with the characters. I loved both characters. I will reread it again in the near future.

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: Uninteresting, Unromantic and Unbelievably Bad!!
Review: I thought this would be an adventure story along the lines of Romancing The Stone. Boy was I wrong. To Love A Man is just a modern day bodice ripper with some pretty bad writing. Not once during the story did I care what happened to Lisa or Sam because they were both so unbelievable and I cannot imagine how any writer could use someone like Sam for the hero. In most stories, he would be the villain in which the hero would rescue the heroine from. This said, I have no problem with an author writing about a not so hero-like alpha male like Linda Howard's After The Night, Mary Jo Putney's Burning Point or Karen Ranney's Upon A Wicked Time. But show me, in some way, that this guy has something worth loving. We don't get this with Sam. He is cruel and nasty throughout the whole story and not only that but he is a rapist. I can't imagine any woman wanting him, but Lisa is pretty unbelievable too. For those of you who think you are getting an adventure romance, I have to warn you that you will also be getting some bad writing too.

Summary: "Strong hero" is actually just "stubborn, immature, jerk"
Review: It's hard to believe another reviewer called the hero of the book a "new age knight in shining armor". The man is awful, and it's hard to believe any woman, much less the heroine of the book, would be interested in him. He's cold, uncaring, and uninteresting. The biggest conflict in the book is that she's rich and he's too insecure to be able to deal with that. Most of the book she's unhappy, and in a desperate situation -- the only reason I can see for this guy even having a chance. The romance, and even just the attraction, is unbelievable.
