Rating: Summary: A good book, but author's no Fabio Review: Aftershocks is a pretty good book, but doesn't quite measure up to the romantic fiction currently being turned out by the masters of the genre, such as Fabio. For one thing, too much time is spent on the protagonist, not enough on the antagonist. And given that one of the characters is a 38 year old man, I think a more sensitive treatment of the subject of hair loss would have been in order. Also, the book would have been more interesting if the protagonist had been a pirate or exiled prince or something more interesting.
Rating: Summary: What A Nice Change of Pace From Ms. Coulter - Very Nice Read Review: I did not expect to like this book, due to the fact that the author did a 360 degree turn in her writing. But, I really enjoyed the book. The characters reminded me of friends I know, so it was like reading about their crazy, sometimes complex and definitely hillarious lives!! This book truly shows that opposite do attract!!! Looking for something different, contemporary, from Ms. Coulter - Try basking in Afterglow.
Rating: Summary: catherine could have done better Review: i don't hate this book... it's a book i would call in between.. itz just that itz not one of catherine's best.. the age between the two lovers was so huge, i was shocked.. the guy was like 16 when that girl was born... seriously.. wowee.. one advice to catherine in romance stories: never let the women be older than the men... and if the man is going to be older than the girl.. then please make not such a long period... thanks~!! i take much pleasure from reading your books~!!
Rating: Summary: What A Nice Change of Pace From Ms. Coulter - Very Nice Read Review: I enjoyed the plot of the book, but Chelsea was an irritating heroine is this novel. Some may call her free-spirited , but I don't think this was the case at all. David was not Ms. C typical hero, but I felt more of a connection and sympathy with him then Chelsea. If I was him, I would have left Chelsea a long time ago. Besides the flawed heroine and sensitive hero, I enjoyed the book. Revisiting the lives of George and Elliot made the book more enjoyable.

Rating: Summary: A wonderful book I was lucky to get and immediately loved. Review: I received this book through a mail order service and immediately fell in love with "George" and the good doctor. I always like older men/younger women stories and this is a gem. Dr. Mallory is a wonderful, kind, caring man who is absolutely besotted with "George" who is charming, beautiful and a model. She is looking for love and finds it in Dr. Mallory, even though he is plagued by guilt at their age difference. He is sure he is robbing her of her youth and experiences she is yet to have. She is sure she's in love. This book is funny, romantic, erotic and very hopeful for all of us that we can find a Dr. Mallory (though mine would have to be 58). I couldn't write to Catherine Coulter fast enough to tell her how much I loved it. She was kind enough to write back and tell me that the book was actually out of print. I then realized how truly lucky I am to have it...then it was reissued. Such is life. I still feel blessed. Highly recommended for a marvelous happy, light read. I would love to see a series along the same vein, but I'm dreaming.

Rating: Summary: A really fun & exciting read Review: I think Catherine Coulter's Aftershocks is a good read. I read the whole thing in a matter of hours and I have read it through 2 more times since then! I think George and Elliot were great characters and I laughed with them got annoyed with them and felt like I knew them really well at the end. I would really recommend this book, although I didn't think much of Afterglow!! The follow on book. Although it was interesting to see how Elliot & George were getting on!!
Rating: Summary: Catherine Coulter's worst book!! Review: I'm a big fan of Catherine Coulter, but this is the most gawd-awful book she has put out. It's a good thing this wasn't the first book I'd read by her or else I'd never touch another of her books. For starters, minus the fact that Chelsea has black hair, her life parallels that of the author and the book read like an autobiography. Chelsea is from California, she's a romance writer (Catherine even has Chelsea writing stories from her Star and Song series), she likes to workout, and David is a physician (like Catherine's husband), the list goes on and on... In truth, this book was just plain blah and very cookie-cutter. Catherine has put out some great stuff, but this just wasn't one of them.
