Rating: Summary: Excellent story, but too neatly wrapped up Review: RRML is really a great read. I loved the characters and the tea parties made me laugh out loud. The same thing happened to my father and uncle when they attended one of my own tea parties. The author does an excellent job at creating realistic and likable characters, and I applaud her choice on the villain. The only real problem I had with the book was that things wrapped up too neatly. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for a happy ending, but the complete about face of his parents who he comments on through the book about being pleasure seekers who think little of their children was a bit too much. I do reccomend it to anyone who wants a delightful read that is very well written. Excellent for a first time author and I know she will get even better.

Rating: Summary: Wonderful book~! Review: Can't believe you're a first time author Jacquie~~I loved RRML~~it made me laugh, it made me cry, but hated for the book to end. It screams sequel~! Thought your style was wonderful~you're right up there with the best of them. Can't wait for Kiss the Cook, as well as anything else you write.....you have a wonderful talent~~which seemed to really upset that "bluestocking", but you know how sour some people can be. You ought to put that person in a future book~~it would be an amusing character~~haha~best of luck in all you do~you're terrific~!
Rating: Summary: Charming, beautiful romance Review: Jacquie D'Alessandro has a winner with her first book. Red Roses Mean Love is a wonderful, charming love story. In 1820 in the outskirts of London, Lord Stephen Barrett is shot and left for dead. He is found by Miss Hayley Albright, a spinster determined to take care of her family. When Stephen awakens afterward the first person he sees is Hayley and he believes she is an angel. Determined to find the person who tried to kill him, Stephen pretends to be a tutor and stays with the Albright family until he has fully recovered. He finds that the Albright family is an intersting lot, servents that eat at the table, children that are outspoken and taught from home, a half-deaf aunt who's elevator doesn't go to the top. A wonderful family indeed. Stephen finds himself going to tea parties with 6 year old girls, going fishing, learning how to cook, shaving himself, and falling in love with Hayley. Hayley feels the same way about Stephen, but she believes that he is a tutor not a marquis, son of a duke. The two fall deeper and deeper in love, while Stephen is inventing more and more lies. Would Hayley still love Stephen once she finds out the truth? What about the person trying to murder Stephen? This is a wonderful love story and I highly recommend it to anyone who loves a great historical.
Rating: Summary: I thought this book"Red Roses Mean Love" was excellent. Review: I thought this book "Red Roses Mean Love" is an excellent book. I would recommend it to all my friends. This book made me laugh and cry. I have always liked romance books, but this one overrates a lot of them. I can't wait for Jacquie's new book to come out. Good luck Jacquie!

Rating: Summary: sweet Review: A charming love story about nice people, you just know that Ms. D'Alessandro is a nice person too. She does have some problems with the language (English,) albeit fewer than many authors writing in this genre. She might, for example, want to check a dictionary before using such big words as palatable (p. 300, where she must have meant palpable,) but she has been reading her novels carefully. We are treated to D'Alessandro versions of some of Judith McNaught's most delightful moments in a book that is a veritable patchwork, snip a plot from one author, characters from another, stitch together a novel. To be fair, it will fadge. The story is charming, even engrossing, and altogether delightful to read. But Ms. D'Alessandro might try for a little originality in her next book.
Rating: Summary: Red Roses Mean, One Really Great Book Review: I just finished reading Jacquie D'Alessandro's Red Roses Mean Love and I am pleased to say I was delighted with the book. Jacquie D' dared to be different. She didn't write the same Tired Old Plot line as so many authors are now doing. The characters are wonderfully alive and funny and charming and real. Nor did she stick to the same old tried and true (And Usually Boring) writing styles. She has a style all her own! It was so refreshing to see someone do "Her Own Thing"! Jacquie D' will soon be a household name. I for one can not wait for her next Book. "Kiss The Cook!" Good Luck, Jacquie! Queenie, A fan in Tennessee
