Review: All I can say is WOW!! This was my first Brenda Joyce book and I absolutely loved it! This book will keep you up all night, and believe me; I almost missed school because I didn't go to bed until 5:00 in the morning. This is when I finally finished the book. This book has everything, passion, betrayal, humor, sadness, and happiness. This is a MUST READ BOOK!! And if you enjoyed this book, I also recommend that you read The Conqueror and The Game.

Summary: Fabulous - Could not put it down
Review: Great Book! Could not put it down, loved the historical references as well. Great characters, moving plot that keeps you riveted. I haven't read a Brenda Joyce Novel that I did not like, but this one was particularly moving. There were times when I wanted to kill Stephen,but that's what makes her books so special.

Review: I cannot believe this book is by the same author as 'The Conqueror'. I am a huge fan of Brenda Joyce but this book really left a bitter taste in my mouth.Stephen treated Mary like dirt until the last chapter and she lapped it up. It was disgusting.Skip this one.

Summary: WOW, This Book Has Everything , I could not Put it Down!
Review: I could not put this book down. Brenda Joyce is fast becoming one of my favorite authors. I loved this book and was very happy to find out it was the sequel to another great book by Brenda Joyce I just finished 'The Conqueror'. This book is about The Conqueror's oldest son Stephen. You also get to revisit characters from the past. The Love between Stephen and Scotlands princess Mary was exciting, heart warming and sad. Brenda Joyce has a way of writing that vividly takes you where the characters are. You want to laugh, cry and shake them to open up their eyes to the truth. You better believe I will be reading more of this authors books. I am hoping there are other books about Stephens two younger brothers and sister. I did not want it to end.

Review: I could not put this book down. The chemistry between Mary & Stephen are so intense. I wanted to slap them both across the face half the time I was reading it. I definitely recommend this book to anyone who loves to be pulled in & not let go!!!

Summary: 1/2 stars.....A fast read
Review: I have to confess that this book did not live up to my expectations. I have also read the prequel to this book, The Conqueror, and it is one of my all time favourites. The Promise of the Rose did not have the same level of scorching sensuality, nor was it as engrossing as The Conqueror, simply because there were too meany characters in this book and I felt that the author did not concentrate much on the hero and heroine.
The book is still worth reading once, as it is a pretty fast and interesting read.
I also liked the character of Geoffrey DeWarrenne, and hope BJ writes a hot book on him some day......

But I was disappointed, first of all Mary has lots of guts and endurance which I found wounderful in a female character, but it was the same thing over and over again all the way through. But what was great about this book was the mention of Geoffery, who seem to be a lusty, romantic, sexy and loving character who I would love [the author] to write about.

Summary: Good...But not as good as the first
Review: I liked this book but had a hard time with it. I found myself getting totally flustered everytime I picked it up. Stephen treated Mary like crap through the whole entire book. He was still willing himself to hate her until the very last chapter. She devoted herself to him and he walked on her like a doormat and used her like a slut. This book was a sequal to "The Conqueror", which I found to be 10 times the better book. I give that one a "10". All in all, Promise of the Rose was worth it to read once.
