Summary: A cheerful and sunny book that will make you feel good!!
Review: Whirlwind Wedding is a light Regency romance in the style of Julia Quinn. This book is so easy and fun to read you will want to finish it in one day!

Elizabeth and Austin are wonderful together. Elizabeth is fun and has a devil may care attitude. Austin is a bit arrogant but very protective and very male. They are well supported with great secondary characters. The big misunderstanding, so typical in romance, is hardly present in this lovely book. The author threw in a secondary romance as well between the sister and the best friend of Austin which gives the book a nice extra.

For Regency romance lovers who enjoy a laugh out loud read with wonderful down to earth characters, Whirlwind Wedding is a must!

Summary: Flawed but Entertaining
Review: Whirlwind Wedding is another pleasant and entertaining novel by Jacquie D'Alessandro. But, as her second novel, it has flaws in the writing that she fortunately corrects in later works.

It is 1816 and Austin Randolph Jamison, Ninth Duke of Bradford, is England's most eligible bachelor. But romance is the last thing on Austin's mind'he's being blackmailed by a mysterious person who threatens to reveal Austin's now apparently deceased brother William as a traitor to England. Since the year before Austin witnessed William smuggling arms onto a French ship, he's convinced of his brother's guilt and is determined to protect his family from scandal.

American Elizabeth Matthews has come to England to live with her Aunt, after failing to share her accurate precognitive visions resulted in the loss of her best friend. She and her Aunt are invited by the Dowager Duchess for a several week visit to Bradford Hall, starting with a fancy ball.

When Austin and Elizabeth meet by chance in the garden during the ball, sparks fly between them'and so do Elizabeth's visions. But when Elizabeth tells Austin she has a vision of William injured but alive, Austin is very suspicious. He doesn't believe in visions. How does Elizabeth know details about his family she couldn't ordinarily know? Could Elizabeth somehow be involved in the blackmail scheme?

Despite his suspicions, Austin cannot resist Elizabeth's innocence, warmth, unpretentiousness, kindness and generosity. Before he knows what's happened, he's fallen in love with her. When Elizabeth's saving Austin's life results in their being caught together in a compromising position, Austin is all too happy to marry her. But after marriage, nothing goes as planned.

The characters are charming and entertaining, but some of their dialogue is stiff'not anything someone would actually say in spoken language, even with the formalities of historical speech. Also, the big plot twist in the middle of the novel, while not expected, immediately signals the reader what the resolution of that difficulty will be, even though it's supposed to be a secret until the end. Despite this problems, Whirlwind Wedding is still a charming and enjoyable read.

Summary: Fantastic from Beginning to End
Review: Whirlwind Wedding kept me stuck like glue to my sofa for two days while I read this great new book from Jacquie D'Alessandro from cover to cover.

Austin Jamison, the hero in the book, starts out as a somewhat dark and stubborn guy with a family secret that's weighing heavily on him. It doesn't take Elizabeth Matthews, our heroine, long to start effecting Austin in ways he never thought possible.

This book has everything I look for and want in a romance novel. It has the romance, of course, but it also has mystery, a great deal of humor and a surprise ending.

Some of the funniest stuff I have read in a long time is about the kittens whose names are hysterically Gadzooks, Egad, Balderdash, Damn It All, and Bloody Hell. Ms. D'Alessandro has a fantastic sense of humor and amused me continually through the entire story.

The twist of Elizabeth having the gift of sight is an interesting twist and was used cleverly in this story. I hope we can look forward to another book about Austin's brother, Robert.

Ms. D'Alessandro's last two books, Kiss the Cook a contemporary romance and Red Roses Mean Love an historical romance, were both excellent and highly recommended. Whirlwind Wedding is better yet and I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys romance, a good mystery plot and the added bonus of a good laugh out loud!

Summary: Whirlwind romance sweeps you away
Review: WHIRLWIND WEDDING shows Jacquie D' Alessandro's talent in the romance genre after her triumph with her debut, Red Roses Means Love. Her novels - tailored with a dash of intoxicating romance, mystery and quirky humour - is a winning formula. This time, with Elizabeth Matthews, an American heiress who inherits the gift of visions and Austin as the duke of Bradford, the two of them make an irresistible pair. Austin, as the strait-laced bachelor is immediately captivated by the extraordinary Elizabeth, who impresses upon him as one different from the ton. She hates shopping, possess a medical bag, draws - and is the perfect soulmate for him. However, their marriage is threatened by Austin's dark secret - his brother William was last seen collaborating with French connections, trading arms with the enemy of the British. His family reputation is at stake and Elizabeth, with her power manages to interest Austin when she envisioned William is still alive. Soon, his secret will be out, and their love suffers an impending challenge....

JACQUIE D' ALESSANDRO succeeds to craft a tale laced with humour and powerful, transcendent emotions of love. The joy is infectious especially upon reading their witty repartee, their bonding and cry when the couple is overwrought with misunderstanding. She brings a twist in the tale to enhance the plot and towards the end a melodrama that is shatteringly intense and heart-wringing.Her second effort is definitely another glorious victory - she narrates confidently and her plot here is definitely more textured and matured than the maiden book. WHIRLWIND WEDDING sweeps you into a maelstrom of drama and first-rate romance and is an invitation romance aficionados cannot resist.
