Summary: Basil's brand new bag
Review: Basil's in love, and is brand new man, with the love of his life being that treacherous drama diva, Yancey Braxton. Harris fans know Basil form all his previous books. The bisexual ex-football star that men and women swoon for. Yancey is best known as the evil understudy from Abide With Me. Not a Day Goes By is their story.

Basil is nearly unrecognizable, all his dirt dog ways behind him, because he now has his sister and nephew in his life and his fiance' Yancey. Yancey continues to climb her way up the Hollywood ladders and is just as in love as Basil. A match like this is nothing less than explosive and the sparks enter the past comes back to haunt them. Basil's men trickle in from nowhere one by one, as does Yancey's former first and most meaningful love with news that rocks her world. None of these people however have bad intentions, but leave it to the principals, in their fear of being found out, to mess up a good thing. Yancey and her scheming mother pull the lid off Basil's past and have every intention of screwing him for life and this is when the old Basil makes his return. Yancey and Basil's uncanny ability to screw up a good thing can all be linked to their real issues, abandonment, sexual abuse and confusion and regret about decisions of the past.

Harris has done it again, this time with two characters that his fans love to hate. The ending is predictable but the route Harris takes to get you there is worth the time. Once again he brings sensitivity to drama by his continued emphasis on friends, family, truth and love.

Summary: A Diva + a Dawg = a Page Turner
Review: I would have never thought after reading some of E. Lynn Harris's preceding books where Basil makes an appearance, that I would actually like this character. I've always kinda despised Basil. But in this book, I couldn't help but like him. Sure he's in deep denial about his sexuality, and he is wrong for not telling his fiancée that about his bisexual past. And I think he is basically a very weak person. But, bless his heart, he is trying in this book. He believes he is in love with Yancey so he works at it and he really does try to make it all work. So I give him a lot of credit. Unfortunately, Basil really is the only major character who is in this book (Although a very minor character, Windsor, is also very admirable). I disliked Yancey a lot. I applaud Mr. Harris for creating such a seriously flawed character who, unfortunately, rings true. Yancey is supremely selfish and self-absorbed. She is jealous, manipulative, materialistic and completely dishonest. Yes, the book addresses why Yancey is such a messed up person, but in my opinion, the little glimpses of humanity we see in Yancey are a little too little to late. And don't get me started on her mother...grrr!
Altho there are some real unsympathetic characters in this book, it is a page turner! It is a very entertaining and fun read

Summary: Superb
Review: Not a day went by when I read this book! I finished this book in one day. E. Lynn has done it again. A wonderful read. He brings back the characters you love to hate: Yancy & Basil. I also liked the introduction of Yancy's trobule making mom Ava. You will love this novel. I know I did. I am now a true E. Lynn Harris fan.

Summary: Not a Day Goes By
Review: What a wonderful novel this was. I've been a avid E Lynn Harris reader since day one. I've waited in anticipation for this novel. The British tend to "get/receive" anything constructed in America far later, which I find unfair. Anyway, back to the novel. Harris this time around, has us asking ourselfs, who really is to blame for the demise of, Mr John Basil Henderson and Ms Yancy Harrington Braxton's relationship. As they both have brought backage, and have caused the relationship to inevitably breakdown. For example, Yancy, who through her quest to be the best at everything possibe, has become quite selfish. She allowed her mother Ava, to manipulate and influence her decision making which has had a detrimental effect on the relationship. And Basil for the deception (period). I was quite pleased to read that Basil has started to build constructive relationships with his sister Campbell and newphew Cade. It just goes to show that he has the ability to love after all!! I found it quite bizarre that they had gotten it together in the first place, but then I remembered that's what keeps me so gripped! Yancy past rears it's head in the form of something quite intriguing, I threw the book down and ran a mile in dis-belief on this discovery! (You've just gotta read this!) From the spin of "And This Too Shall Pass", Zurich Robinson make a wonderful, so understood apperance as a candidate for partnership in Basil thriving firm. Again this sets the mood for an added twist to the story. I'll leave it there for now. Let Harris envoke something within us all!. As Harris makes his novels seem so infinite. WELL DONE!! (Bravo!)

Summary: Not a Dull Minute Goes By When Reading This One
Review: Whoa now!! This story doesn't stop....you get pulled and pushed at the same time and you move from corner to corner with each subsequent chapter. This one won't be getting the Pulitzer, but I can see why he sells a lot of books. The story captivates and the characters make you care about them. I'm very different from the both the main characters, but E. Lynn Harris told a tale and described them in ways that made me give a crap about what they did and how they did it.

All relationships have drama and the ones in this book have much so much high drama that they are completely believable. Not a Day is definitely a supercharged soap opera, but the insights you give the male and female in the telling make it well worth the paper back price.

Summary: Wonderfully shocking and captivating
Review: E. Lynn Harris has written a masterpiece that would inspire any writer to be honest and open about their thoughts and their feelings. The characters in this novel are amazing, but at the same, they are unbelieveably selfish just like any human being can be. This novel will keep you glued in amazement because it has an unforgettable list of personalities that you will not only cheer for, but you will also hate. E. Lynn Harris is a gifted writer, an honest writer, and the words he writes in this book will open your eyes and show you what it is like to love, and what it is like to live with the consequences of that love. Read and enjoy "Not A Day Goes By".
