Summary: not a day goes by
Review: I have to say that I was rather disappointed with this book. I waited months for it's release, and got a half-hearted effort at continuing a story that has been excellent until now. This book lacked the depth, passion, and excitement i've come to expect from Mr. Harris. The one bright spot came in the epilogue, when Mr. Harris let it be known that Basil the Dawg was back. I look foward to that story, and hope that I won't again be disappointed.

Summary: Louisiana Reflections on Literary Food For The Soul!
Review: This is your reader from New Orleans, Terence. In case the world did not know, we, here in the south do have a literary minds as well as an eye for what is fast becoming a Literary Icon mecca. I purchased your book after I got off of work the day the book was released and after an early business dinner decided to settle in for what I knew was going to be an exciting ride. The book captured my attention from the very beginning. It was like I never closed the back cover on Abide With Me as the characters seemingly flowed into their daily routines. I thought to myself, Mr. Harris could go on and on developing these already complex characters. I mean with Zurich and Sean, Tamela and Caleb, Raymond and Trent, Jared and Nicole (the twins were a nice touch) there are just so many story lines to unfold. Whether or not you have the strength to do it, I don't know but I can tell you one thing as I look into these people's lives, each one contains a bit of myself. Yancy turned out to be just like I thought she would be and I am speaking from experience seeing as though I just rid myself of a male version of her about 6 months ago. Basil couldn't be anybody else but Basil. He is in a class of playas all by himself. I stayed up last night until I finished the book. Although you said it a was short selection, I thought it was just the right size for summer reading. You have outdone yourself again. Your pictorial layout in Essence and in the book jacket look extremely nice. I just wanted to let you know that you have hit paydirt once again and you can take a bow. You have proven that the power of the pen is definitely more powerful than the sword in the most profound way and that is through the expression of life in it's truest form. Move over John Grisham because Hollywood is definitely going to take notice whether they want to or not. E.Lynn Harris is here to STAY!

Summary: E. Lynn hasn'tlost it yet
Review: I just figured that this book would fall off a little since it is his sixth novel about this same sequel. I was totally wrong. It took me two days to read this book and I enjoyed every bit of it. I like the way he gave away the ending in the begining, but you had to read on to figure out why. I really like the new style book that was with this one, it was really easy to read. The twist in this book was excellent and will have you always guessing. This is a must read. E. Lynn has done it again.

Summary: YOU DON DONE IT AGAIN!
Review: This book is easy reading and it takes no time to finished E. Lynn with his own special way of keeping the reader interested to the very last drop. The characters fall into place quite well and there are people who you think you know but you just dont know them quite well. This book ends up a series of books from one guy Basil who is trying to do the right thing. Yancy (with her wicked self) just makes it bad for other women out there whose looking for Mr. Right and Basil was trying to do everything right, even though he was struggling with his past we all have a little or lot of that in our closet. Waiting on the next book!

Summary: E. Lynn does it again...........
Review: I couldn't wait for this book to arrive, also knew I shouldn't start reading while at work, so you read the first 3 pages and wonder what happened? E. Lynn your story telling is masterful, suspenseful and a delight. The struggles of your characters are so really. Those of you who have made this your first E. Lynn Harris book, run out and get the previous five, it's money well spent.....

Summary: A little disappointing
Review: Like all of E.Lynn's fans, I too was anxiously awaiting the release of this book. I read it in three days and when I finished I thought--is this it? In my opinion, Yancey and Basil were too superficial to be used as main characters because they're too predictable. Halfway through the book I had a sense of what was going to happen and how it would end. I think what Zurich, Raymond and Windsor brought to the story is what fans had grown accustomed to in other stories by the author. Although this book didn't meet my expectations, I look forward to hearing more about Windsor, Ava and of course Basil.

Summary: E. Lynn Harris strikes back again
Review: E. Lynn:

First off, let me commend you on yet another masterpiece! I read Not a Day Goes By cover to cover within a day, just as my roommate did. It was excellent! You know, that Yancey may have a heart after all. But, it's impossible to drink from a well that's gone dry. Then there's Basil who is so confused he doesn't quite know what to do with himself. Yanceys' roommate Windsor was a wonderful addition to the story. I see that you left it somewhat open...does that mean that we will see Basil and Yancey again? My book club, Sistah Circle hosted your book signing of Abide With Me at Black Images in Dallas. I recall then that you said Basil might get his own book. Let me tell you, "YOU HAVE OUT DONE YOURSELF!" This book was absolutely marvelous. I received all of the invitations for Yancey and Basil's wedding, excellent idea. Whomever came up with that idea, always keep them on your team. Excellent marketing strategy. E. Lynn, what can I say besides, I simply love your books. Again I will say, since you first came into sistah's lives with Invisible Life, you have caused us to look and think twice about the men we deal with. We often times find ourselves saying, 'I hope he is not a Basil Henderson!' and praying that he is not. Please hurry with the next one, E. Lynn Harris books are my favorite. Please, do keep up the great work.

Summary: Not a Day Goes By
Review: Well he has done it again! Just when you thought it could not get any better it does. Mr. Harris once again has found a way to make me want more, more of Basil, Yancey, Raymond, and Madison. The book finally brought Basil full circle. I now understand him and his bi-sexual behavior, and I have a deeper appreciation for him and his inner struggle with who he is and why he is the way he is. I feel for Yancey but I don't like her because she hurt Basil, and Ms. Ava she is a diva in every sense of the word, imagine her singing "I'm telling You" at the party as a toast. However, the line that really got me was "I'll leave you alone only after your check clears" what a thing to say to your daughter, Fierce! but that's Ms. Ava she gets points just because she is Ms. Ava

It is amazing that he can continue to churn out these wonderful books and the material always seems "fresh" as do the characters. I always find myself yelling out loud "I can't believe it! " I hope that all those who have not read the book will not only pick up this copy but all the other books that preceeded Not a Day Goes By. We can all identify with the characters in these books on some level, as it is filled with people trying to get ahead in life no matter what. It has all the drama and suspense one could ask for and I finished it in two days. It is a book that you won't want to put down. You will be surprised from the first chapter and screaming "go Basil" by the last. If this was a soap opera it would win many awards because there is never a dull moment in the book.

I highly recommend it and if I could have rated it a 10 I would have. Mr. Harris is a master at drawing you in and spinning a web around you.He has a talent for setting the scene so that you feel like your right there witnessing it happen. If you have not read his books you are missing out, if you have then you know of what I speak. I hope Amazon will give his books a lot more play especially since he has been on all the major radio stations and television shows discussing his lastest book. Harry Potter is okay but we want more E. Lynn Harris. Go out and buy it for yourself, for your friends, for family, whoever just go buy it.

Summary: Excellent!
Review: Don't let the first few pages fool you...just when you think you know exactly what "Not A Day Goes By" is all about...the author weaves his beautiful story that will have you on the edge of your seat...Excellent...I love it!

Summary: Not long enough
Review: E. Lynn Harris has done it again. My hat goes off to him for writing another wonderful story. This brother has some serious talent. Mr. Harris writes with such passion! My only regret is that the book was too short. John "Basil" Henderson is much too deep for such a short book. I hope this means that the next E. Lynn Harris novel will be out really soon.....
