Summary: It won't win a nobel lit prize, but it's a fun ride!
Review: I liked E. Lynn in my early twenties and haven't read a book of his since the first two came out. I wanted to check him out and see how he's grown as a writer (and how I've grown as a critical reader). This book was fun, and I couldn't put it down, but I do understand why critics are frustrated by the overwhelming amount of Black novels that read just the same way this one did, with a few too many overly dramatic metaphors, too much name dropping (especially with clothing designers), and unnecessarily bourgie details. Harris is very descriptive; almost too much so. There were moments when I was drawn out of the story by too-long lists of adjectives about simple things like the napkin a character was using to wipe her mouth. Overall, a fun read. Just go into it knowing it ain't that deep.

Summary: I Just Can't Get Enough of That Basil
Review: "Not a Day Goes By" is the story of my favorite ELH character Basil Henderson. If you've read other ELH novels then you know that Basil is a sexually confused bad boy. Nut in this book Basil meets his match when he meets and falls in love with Yancy Braxton. Yancy like Basil has made brief apperances in other ELH novels but this is the first time we get to read her story. When these two get together it's truly explosive.

Summary: Great book for a lazy day!
Review: I bought this book a long time ago because I read some great review about it, but didn't get around to reading it until this past week or so. I couldn't put it down! The characters are so well-written and the plot is fast moving to keep you interested. Plenty of relationship drama and suspense; definitely a page turner. Can't wait to read another novel from this author!

Summary: Harris has done it again!!
Review: Not a Day Goes By has brought to the forefront two of E. Lynn Harris' most intrigueing (and wicked) characters. It is the story of Yancy Braxton and Basil Henderson who are engaged to be married but have a difficult time finding their way to the alter when friends, family and a whole lot of scheming get in the way.
I loved this book because it showes what happens when two self-absorbed, arrogant (and wicked) people get together and find love in one another and all of the drama that it brings. 4 STARS!

Review: I did enjoy this book. This author continues to give us entertaining stories and I am looking forward to his next one.

Summary: Who do you love? Who can you trust?
Review: Ava and Yancy are two of a kind. Basil is the victim here, but he is in rare form, he never will let you get him in a catch 22. Ava is the best actress in a leading roll and Yancy is the best supporting actress in this story. You will not believe the women here. It is too bad that Yancy didn't love Basil enough to turn him around, and it is too bad that Basil was smart enough to know the signs of a performance to do what he has to do to find out what Yancy is really up to. Now it is sad that he ultimately gets hurt, he's confused enough, but I am so glad that they didn't get to bring the curtain down in their performance, because Basil set the stage. I am hungry to read the continuation of the saga with "Any way the wind blows." Because Basil is back with his "Phine....self" but my goodness all that man, and he is switchin lanes, Have Mercy.. You never know. Don't let the Physique fool you. Ladies you better look behind.... (must read!)

Summary: Couldnt Put It Down
Review: I read this book in only one day. It was just that good. I had to know what was going on with Basil since every book I've read so far by E Lynn Harris has Basil as a character in it. I recommend this book to everyone is it truely a great read. Mr Harris keep up the good work I cant wait untill I get my hands on the next one

Summary: Inline with the Invisible Life Trilogy
Review: This book brings out some characters from the Invisible Life series and introduces new characters to keep the ball rolling. That's why I love it.

I like how thw characters have developed in terms of their attitudes and behaviors.

Summary: E. Lynn, You Go Boy!
Review: I finished this book in three days! It had twists and turns to keep the readers interested. Talk about a mother from hell! This book not only explores relationships between partners but also shows how we are products of our upbringings. Children often continue to display disfunctions in their future relationships due to how they were raised. It's difficult to like or hate Yancey because you know that the triflin' schemes that she used on her fiance Basil is a direct result of how she has been taught to look at the world.

A good read! I will definitely be reading the sequel "Any Way the Wind Blows".

Summary: Just too much information.
Review: Let me start of by saying I thought the book itself was pretty good. It was just hard to read through the gay scenes. That was the ony reason why I didn't buy anymore from this series. If you're not squemish about reading explicit gay scenes then by all means get this book. If you are like me and would rather not read about gay scenes, then don't get this book.
