Rating: Summary: Leave you wanting more! Review: Mr. Harris has done it again with Basil and the trials and errors in his life. But Mr.Harris makes you long for more of Basil and if he will ever find what he is looking for. But at this end of this book you know that Basil is just the bad boy that you want. This book was a quick read and have you longing for the next page. Great book again and hat's off to E. Lynn Harris.
Rating: Summary: BARBI'S DAYS GONE BY Review: I THROUGHLY ENJOYED THIS BOOK. I READ THIS BOOK IN ONE DAY - I COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN. IT IS VERY FAST-PACED. I COULDN'T WAIT TO GET THROUGH ONE CHAPTER SO THAT I COULD START ON THE NEXT. MY ONLY COMPLAINT? IT WAS TOO SHORT!
Rating: Summary: Worth the Wait! Review: I thought this book was great. It focused on my two favorite characters. Thought the book was a short, easy read, but there is a lot of stuff going on. Basil continues to try to lead the 'straight life.' And, of course, you have to get to the very end, to find out if he suceeds. This book has great story developement, and the author nicely tied in other past characters. It was pulled together nicely. It was definately worth the wait!
Rating: Summary: "A DAY GOES BY" very quickly! Review: NOT A DAY GOES BY was a fitting ending to the Basil Henderson-Yancy Braxton relationship where the big payoff was not in the malicious throwing of barbs and blackmail that I was relishing, but the cold, hard reality of the life you are living coming back to stare you in the face through the eyes of the one you love the most. It was poinant and memorable, and I can't believe that I read it all in two days! Yeah, it was a short book, but still.... Hey E., got a new idea for you! Instead of concentrating on the recurring cast of characters, how we go in a totally new direction and start on Ava? That chick got enough issues to put PEOPLE MAGAZINE out of business! Think about it!
Rating: Summary: You GO BOY! Review: E.Lynn didn't let me down! I was kind of apprehensive about buying this book... because I thought that maybe it would be "the same ole story" in a new cover! I am happy to say that that is definately not the case. I have encountered Basil in other Harris novels... but this is the first time that I have ever felt for him. I thought that Yancey was a snake from the begining... and I was quite pleased with the outcome of the book. I can't wait for the next one.... because I know good and well that E. Lynn isn't going to let it end like that.
Rating: Summary: Perfect for the summer (and the other 3 seasons, too) Review: Mr. Harris has out done himself, if that was humanly possible. The tortured saga of Basil and Yancey was incredibly moving and gripping. The characters he creates are so real and multifaceted. Ava was a modern day Mommy Dearest, Zurich was a rich contrast to the shallow Basil and Windsor was self loving and terrific. Thank you Mr. Harris for releasing your book on my birthday and making it the best day of the year.I saw him on the CBS morning show and he was so charming. Also if you bring this book on vacation, you'll need another one because I finished "Not A Day Goes By" in 1 and 1/2 days. I'm eagerly looking toward to his next book.
Rating: Summary: Excellent Read Review: I loved this book and would recommend it to others who enjoyed the author's other books. If you have been hanging on the edge of your seat, waiting for Basil and Yancey to get their due. This is the book for you. My only regret is it is not longer.
Rating: Summary: Another Great Story Review: I am a fan of all the E. Lynn books since the beginning and he wrote a great book again. I hated when I got the book and saw how small it was of course I was done with it in two days. I am always eager for more. One thing about this book I did not like was it sort of ruined another of his books for me. Which is And This Too Shall Pass. I finished that book with Zurich and Sean together and I thought they would remain together but I found in this book that they moved to "good friends" in fact it was all one sided from Zurich's point of view. It's sad that another black gay couple could not make it together but I see Raymond and Trent were able to stay together. I wanted it to work for Zurich and Sean but it didn't. In AND THIS TOO SHALL PASS Basil side tracked Zurich from finding Sean and in this new one it seemed like Basil and Zurich might end up together. You did not need Trent in this book since Raymond implied they were still together but for me even if just for a couple chapters Sean should have been there....but still E. Lynn you know how to hook and reel your readers in....Congrats on another great book.
Rating: Summary: Not A Days Go By Review: Excellent but too short. This one in particular was a steady quick read. I will say- E Lynn attempted to give Basil some true balls but it back slipped/(I liked this) Reading this book reminded me that a manipulative bitch will generally result a Bitchy Diva/ she learned from the master: her Mother. E. Lynn used the heart to tell the story but creative misconception created the script. I loved this one just too DAMN short!
Rating: Summary: Absolutlely Fabulous Review: E. Lynn Harris just keeps getting better. It was great to have Basil return, this time with a heart. I was hopeful that he and Yancy would work things out, but with her background and mother combined she has a lot demons to slay. Maybe her roommate can give her a hand and help her to grow up. I am anxiously awaiting the sequel. All evidence leads me to believe that Basil's alter-ego is about to surface in such a way that is going to be an adventure for all who read it.This was a quick easy read and I highly recommend it for all of Harris' fans.
