Summary: Will the REAL writer please stand.....
Review: What happened to this story? I was psyched to finally delve into the mind of one of the most interesting characters on page. Then I read the book. I can be counted as part of his legion of fans; but, I was highly disappointed with this book. Mr. Lynn can do MUCH better than this. This story felt like it was just thrown together in order to get out the way. I would have preferred for E. Lynn to release his bio as previously mentioned and then devoted more time to tell this story. This story left too many questions left unanswered as well as big holes throughout the story. I will continue to support E. Lynn - but I will be much more selective about purchasing it in hardback or paperback.

Summary: E. Lynn Harris Fan's must
Review: If you are an E. Lynn Harris fan, this is a must. The infamous, double dealing, "lane changing", Basil is the part of the Dynamic Duo of central characters. The leading lady is Yancy Braxton, from his last book, and these two have finally met their matches ... dysfunctional, self-absorbed, self-important and sad.

They are madly in love with each other but have so many 'issues' that a final connection is definitely a challenge.

If you've followed the series of E. Lynn Harris books, you should not be disappointed. Both characters play their true selves out in the end.

This was a quick, page turning read. If you like Mr. Harris, you will not be disappointed.

Summary: Quick Read!
Review: Another good book by E. Lynn Harris! Although I expected a little more, the book was truly a Harris page turner. Read it in 1 day! I was a little disappointed, because after reading the first page, you figured out what happened; I could have done without that. But in the end Yancey got burned. I hated to see a sistah hurt, but that's a chance you take when you fall in love with "Basil". We'll see what happens in the next one. I got a feeling we haven't seen the last of Basil, or Zurich...

Summary: The Basil saga continues........
Review: The much-anticipated sixth novel by E. Lynn Harris hit number 2 last week on the New York Times Bestseller list. His last two books, Abide with Me and If This World Was Mine also were on the lists and in my opinion they were better constructed books. I am breaking my own rules in comparing because I really think each book should be judged individually it it's own merit. I can't say anything bad about; It was indeed a page-turner. If there were halves I would give it a 3 1/2. It just didn't quite warrant a four. Some reviewers have expressed disappointment and have given it low ratings. I think that is a bit much, but this last one did leave me somewhat hanging, hungering for more. I must admit I had doubts that a union between the self-absorbed, psyche damaged, wannabe star Yancey and the flip-flop, psychotic Mr. Basil could be successful. They both are so stuck on themselves and selfish but people change, right? Basil with some psychiatric treatment behind him feels he is in a position to love Yancey Braxton and gives the relationship his all, resisting temptation with both men and women. Yancey loves Basil, but not completely which leaves room for her to be influenced by her crazy, sluttish mother. They have plans for Yancey and Basil's wedding day and it doesn't look good. With all the superficial buppies, wannabe stars, and name dropping, my yearning for living in New York has somewhat dimmed. Imagine throwing a wedding and inviting celebrities in order to boost your career and to get in the hot publications. I am glad a brother is getting so much publicity and attention for this novels and I recommend all of his books starting with Invisible Life. I also look forward to his memoir.

Summary: HE'S DONE IT AGAIN!
Review: Well, the E-Man has done it again! After completing a difficult read, I needed a book that I was confident wouldn't disappoint me...and this was it! I finished this book in record time...I just couldn't put it down. I loved the characters, I loved the ending and it's clear that E. Lynn will be penning a sequel. And I'm already on the edge of my seat in anticipation.....I can't wait!

Summary: Not your typical E. Lynn Harris
Review: To avid readers this book is a bit breezy. Its a small book with few words printed on each page and a reading level of probably 8th grade. For people who do not read much or who just want an easy summer read then its perfect. It will leave the rest of us wanting a little more. The saving grace for this book is what has made Harris a best selling author---his character depictons. These characters are so real that you get caught up in their emotional rollercoasters. They're believable and may remind you of people you know. It was a creative little tale of romance, deception, sex and family issues. When the two main characters have to face their pasts head on, it reads like a high speed train wreck. Worth reading.

Summary: A Tease!
Review: This book was pretty good, but I felt it was just a tease. It was not long enough and the story line was left wide open. There were really no surprises, except Yancey's well kept secret. Hopefully, we can continue with the up/downs of Basil and Yancey in an upcoming sequel. I would like to see what happens to both, since the ending left a lot of speculation and I would like to see how Yancey handled everything with the Derrick and Madison situation. Overall, it was a good, fast, and easy read. I've always enjoyed E. Lynn Harris and had the pleasure of meeting him at a signing. I hope to hear him read at the next signing, since he could not read at this signing. E. Lynn Harris, please continue this storyline and not make your reading audience wait so long. Thanks.

Summary: I RATE THE BOOKD 10 STARS IF I MAY!
Review: I TOOK MY TIME READING THIS BOOK BECAUSE I KNEW IT WAS GOING TO BE AS GREAT AS ALL OF MR HARRIS'S OTHER BOOKS... I THOROUGHLY ENJOYED AND WILL ADD IT TO MY "E. LYNN HARRIS COLLECTION" AND ANXIOUSLY WAIT FOR THE NEXT!

Summary: Days Well Spent...
Review: E. Lynn has done it again. Mr. Harris has a unique talent for satisfying the cravings of his readers by conjuring up intricate plots that unravel as the reader briskly turns his pages. He teases us by leaving us wanting more, and answering our questions of 'how are Raymond, Trent, Nicole, Jared, Zurich, Sean,Yancey, and the sexily evil Basil?' only merely mentioning them in his next sequel. We never know if he's going to bring on of them back or move us into caring about the new people his brilliant mind can concoct. Mr. Harris has us in the palms of his gifted hands.

Summary: GUILTY PLEASURE
Review: If you're looking for a easy, quick "summer read" this is it. Harris continues his always entertaining trials in the lives of characters introduced in Invisible Life. This go around cocky, bisexual footballer Basil takes the lead engaged to the snotty, conniving wanna be diva Yancey ( from Abide With Me ). While some of the dialogue sounds cheesy and forced, you will get so absorbed with the characters and story, you won't want to put it down. And then when it's over Harris achieves his goal of making you want more.
