Summary: Good, but I'm ready for new characters
Review: I'm a major fan of E. Lynn Harris... and have read his previous books multiple times. However, I was a bit disappointed with this one. I still find Basil to be interesting, but I don't care for the Lancey character. It took me awhile to get into this one. The second half of the book is excellent... and I could not put it down! I give the previous books 10 stars out of five, but this one was my least favorite. I know that E. Lynn Harris has a lot to write, and I look forward to future books (hopefully with new characters!). Even though I was disappointed with this one, I'll still read all future books by this wonderful author on the day they are released!

Summary: Caution! This Book is laced with super glue!
Review: When you pick up this novel, you won't be able to put it down!

Both Yancey and Basil have some SERIOUS issues! These two severely damaged people want to unite as one in holy matrimony. How they choose to deal with their individual issues make up a great story. Lies, secrets, deception and the past all add up to complications galore for this engaged couple. Will they make it to the altar and become a mended pair? Should they? This is a must read. The Yancey-Basil roller coaster ride is exciting from beginning to end...There are no straight tracks on this ride!

Summary: Well written disappointment
Review: This is the first Harris book that I have read -- It will not be the last. While the plot of this work suffers somewhat due poor development of one of the characters, the otherwise well-written story is easy to read. This is one of those books you can finish in a single evening. There are no unexplained sub plots or unneeded characters. Reading the other posted reviews provide amble discussion of the two main characters (Yancy and Basil). My disappointment with the story centers on the unlikable Ava, (Yancy's mother). The actions of this character are somewhat contrived and are not as believable as the others.

Review: Mr.Harris has done it again! This book is enjoyable. Though it is not as deep as the first two books. But, hey we are talking about the people we love to hate Yancy and Basil. These two selfish, mean, and lying twosome deserve each other. Neither has a redeeming quality between them. And let's not forget Yancy's mother! Even though these characters are worthless, I loved reading this story to see if they would recognize and seek help.

Summary: FAST READ
Review: I like how you always feel you're continuing a conversation with a good friend about people you both know when you pick up a novel of E. Lynn Harris. Finally a story focusing on Basil! Yes, both Yancey and Basil had a lot of emotional baggage; however, I think this relationship was reflective of many relationships where people hook up for all the wrong reasons, but discover their baggage after they say I do. Too bad Basil was not able to progress after the lesson he learned. Once again, I think we can all see this happening in reality. I enjoyed the book as I have all of the others.

Summary: It's all that and a bag of chips.
Review: Well as always I have enjoyed this book by Mr Harris I have been waiting a long time for Ms Yancey to get hers she's a trip and her mother is no joke either and I'm so glad he put them to rest for the evening. Now for Mr Basil I feel he for once started seeing thing for what they are including himself I hate she hurt him but he was not true to himself either. But them two did deserve each other for the time being. I tell you every book keep me coming back for more and I can't wait to hear from Mr Raymond now he's the man of all his books now you will enjoy this book but one thing you have to read the whole series from the first book to understand how this book is so good. My book club 5sistah and a book recommend you read them all....

Review: This book is so stupid, it defies description. Why in the world any publisher would be interested in it is a mystery in itself. "Beefy finger"? ugh

Summary: Another conversation Piece for Book clubs of America
Review: E.Lynn Harris has outdone himself Again. I enjoyed Yancy's antics as well as being shocked at how low her mother would stoop for the limelight. I have read all of MR. Harris's books and this one is a page turner, I read the book in two days. A must read for book clubs across the country, as it will have everyone laughing and chatting. Job Well done Mr. Harris. Now if we could just get Oprah to notice.

Summary: Not a Word UnRead
Review: Where do I begin? From the minute I received the book in the mail I was anxious to begin reading.

I am in a book club that was reading another novel at the time and I ended up putting it down to begin reading this book! And I must say that Mr E. Lynn Harris has not disappointed me yet.

I was happy that he continued to develop the character Basil. I started out not liking the character Basil in the other novels but as time went by the character began to grow on me. E. Lynn Harris did an excellent job as usual in holding your attention and developing a real Page Turner book. Our bookclub will be featuring this book as our September's Book of the Month and I know our club members will not be disappointed.

This book is a must read but better yet if you haven't read the other novels by this author then I suggest you catch up since you do not know what you have been missing. Simply EXCELLENT!
