Summary: Not your average romance
Review: This is my first Susan Andersen book to read. Although I would have to say I found the author's style of writing in this particular book on the humorous side, it wasn't romance in the usual manner. I doubt any man in his right man would want to depend on a woman for physical protection, although I know there are women who are capable. We're talking how this made Nick look to the female fans of Andersen(at least for me). She made him him look like a wimp right off the bat, which was a turnoff for me to start with. They were jumping into sex too often and didn't leave room for much of a story plot. Everyone likes sex in a romance novel, but this one went to extremes. About the only thing that seemed to be realistic in this novel was the politican, J. Fitzgerald, and his behavior. I didn't care for the plot, but I found the book to be an amusing read and found myself laughing at times. I think the author has talent with words so I'll probably read some more of her work.

Summary: Enjoyable but Superficial in the Extreme...
Review: This is my first Susan Andersen book, so I'm not in a position to make any general assessments about the author. However, in terms of "Baby, Don't Go" itself, I was a little disappointed. The biggest problem for me was the completely superficial relationship between Daisy and Nick, who by 2/3 of the way through the novel, are hopelessly in "love" with each other. I realize that in fun, romantic books, the reader should expect some exaggeration, especially in the PACE at which the protagonists feel things for each other. But still, I found it TOTALLY implausible that (A) Nick would find Daisy's hard-as-nails, snide, insulting demeanor utterly irresistible (as Andersen seemed to expect us to believe), or that (B) either Daisy or Nick loved anything more than each other's sex appeal. Nick's emotions were the hardest to sell. True, while he was a complete jerk in the past to Daisy, she's so attracted to him that of course she's ultimately vulnerable to all his groveling (and totally unrealistic!) apologies and declarations of love. Again, sex seems the motivation for her forgiving him. But, Nick's desperate pleas with Daisy to love him, and all but BEGGING her to have a committed relationship with him, while feeling blissfully confident and enamored after each time Daisy shoots him down, are too much for anyone to believe. And by the way, throughout the novel, all Nick keeps thinking is how "mysterious" Daisy is....not to belabor my point too much, but that is not love, it's infatuation! Usually I like the idea of romance between people who have known each other in the past because then there's a sense of intimacy already established between the two people. But, in this case, Daisy and Nick might as well have been strangers. (Rachel Gibson's Truly, Madly Yours does a far better job with the boy-from-the-heroine's-past storyline). I did agree with one reviewer who mentioned that the side storyline with Mo and Reid did make the novel a little more engaging. And, I actually did find the sex scenes effective & believable. I gave this book 3 stars because overall it was an enjoyable, quick read - but ultimately it was forgettable.

Summary: Not Andersen's Best "Baby" Book
Review: This is the third in a series of "Baby" Books for author Susan Andersen. Although it is an OK read it can't compare to her previous books, Baby, I'm Yours and Be My Baby. I haven't figured out which golden oldie Susan will name her next book after. The story takes place during a one week period. After four years as an Oakland police officer, Daisy Parker had retired to open her own business as a security specialist. After not seeing Daisy for nine years, her ex-step brother, Nick Coltrane saunters into her office on a Monday morning requesting her services. Nick, a well-known and reputable photographer in the San Francisco area, recently took pictures at a society wedding and one of the pictures proved to be damaging to a local VIP. In his quest to obtain control of the negatives, the VIP sends out his goons to do some real damage to Nick. Totally ticked off by his initial treatment from the goons, Nick decides to sell the negatives to the tabloids, something he has never done before. But besides his anger he also needs cash to help his sister out of a financial jam. Nick is the only man ever to make Daisy's heart beat faster. But after callously taking her virginity nine years earlier then telling her to "get over it" and grow up, Nick is the last man she wants to see again. But the $4,000 retainer he offers her is difficult to resist. So begins a week of fighting off the bad guys and developing a relationship between Nick and Daisy. Sounds like a good story? Well, it was only OK. I do so enjoy Susan's use of down-to-earth everyday language and her love scenes are always great. I also enjoyed the fact that the leading lady was the "protector" in this book, BUT not at the expense of making the hero look like a wimp! I would recommend you read BIY or BMB. And Susan's website lists the following books for reissue in the near future: Present Danger --Dec.,2000; Obsessed--July, 2001; On Thin Ice--Dec.2001.

Summary: I wish I could vote for less than 1 Star!
Review: This must be one of the most dissapointing books I've read in a long time. I have one major gripe about this. If Josh, the pretty boy, suddenly decides after all these years that he truley loves Daisy, why does he have to say it like a million times to her? I found myself saying, "Enough Already"! I wouldnt waste my time on this book. Plot and reality are missing in this book and the characters were too way out there in that boy/girl, shes masculine and hes just too pretty way. I kinda had the feeling the guy was a major wimp! Who wants a wimpy pretty boy? I'll tell you, its definitely not me

Summary: This author isn't "doing it" for me anymore!
Review: This was my 3rd book in her BABY series to read and I've probably had enough of her. Two formulae used in romance are bugging me more and more and this author uses both of them. (1) Woman falling in love with man from her youth upon whom she had crush back then. (2) Tons of mental lusting that the characters go through, especially the male. You fervidly start hoping that they "get it on" ASAP so you don't have to keep reading the mental lusting ad nauseum. Although it was probably only a 2 star book for me, I'm giving it a 3 because I think those factors bother me a lot more than they will most romance readers.

Summary: One of romance's stars
Review: Though Security Specialist Daisy Parker desperately needs the money, she wonders if she is making a huge mistake by agreeing to guard photographer Nick Coltrane. Her mother and his father shared a short ugly marriage, but worse was that night of love they shared before he dumped her as a one-night stand almost a decade ago.

During a wedding of the rich and famous, Nick inadvertently took a picture that prominently shows future ambassador Douglass in a compromising position with a female that is not his wife. Douglass sends thugs to obtain the picture, but Nick prefers to sell it to the media in order to obtain cash to help his financially strapped sister. Daisy reluctantly agrees to guard Nick, but neither knew their sexual attraction would explode into a deep love for one another.

With her "baby" novels (see BABY, I'M YOURS and BE MY BABY), Susan Anderson has become a fan favorite for her rousing romantic romps. Her latest tale, BABY, DON'T GO, contains the usual humor, wit, and excitement expected in one of Ms. Anderson's books. The shared past of the lead couple makes their present sizzle with discord yet cannot stop their growing attraction to each other. The support cast adds cause and humor to an entertaining fun to read contemporary romance.

Summary: Boring...
Review: Totally boring and unrealistic...could not believe Susan Andersen even wrote this book. Plenty of sex thrown in, and that was even more boring. Guess Ms. Andersen churned out the book without thought toward content or plot. Not a good read, don't waste your money.

Summary: DON'T MISS OUT! COULDN'T PUT THIS ONE DOWN
Review: WOW, THIS BOOK WAS AMAZING. It caught my attention from the first page right to the last. I don't understand how anyone could dislike this book. It was exciting, mysterious, unpredictable, sexy, steamy, original. In other words it was great.
