Summary: Baby, Don't Go....
Review: I enjoyed this a lot. Daisy becomes a bodyguard to her ex-stepbrother and one-time/1st time lover, Nick. This is a well-written, sexy, fun book with wonderful main and secondary characters. I read it in record time. Highly recommended!

Summary: Baby, please go!
Review: I found it funny after I finally finished this that the cover comment was "lively and fun" since I found this dull and boring. I've read other Susan Andersen books and enjoyed them, but found this almost impossible to even finish.

After setting up a contrived situation, the author went on to create flat, stereotypical characters. Although the characters kept finding new depths in each other, I saw no development at all in any of the main characters. Every major event was completely predictable from the foreshadowing. The future ambassador (the third major character) had no personality save that used to drive Nick & Daisy towards the all too predictable ending. I love romances, but this was a total waste, only finished since I had nothing else new to read in the house.

Summary: Funny, not the funniest, but funny
Review: I found Susan after raiding a used bookfair. I really enjoyed her first book, Baby I'm yours, but the following novels did not do much for me. They were funny, but it was not that same feeling that I received from that first book. I enjoyed the characters, and the plot, it just wasn't my favorite.

Summary: Light Hearted Fun!
Review: I found that with this author, it's sometimes a hit or miss situation, but this is one of her funniest books.

The heroine is plucky, the hero is surprisingly sensible while not being effeminate (oh in addition to being extremely hot). Secondary characters are funny, warm and unusual for a romance book, albeit a bit stereotypical (the heroine's best friend is gay, therefore he's portrayed as a bit of a "queen") but it was still a pleasure to see gay and cross dressing characters incorporated into the story. Not only are secondary characters warm, so is the secondary love story.

All in all it was a quick, fun read.

Summary: couldn't even finish it...
Review: I guess someday I might go back and pick this one up again but as far as today goes...I just couldn't find the energy to finish it...

This is a story about Daisy...a young teenage girl whom gave herself and her virginity to Nick ....an older hunk and a photographer....who walks out on her...Now Nick walks back into Daisy's life after a nine year absence and hires her services as a bodyguard. He has taken a scandlous photo of some senator guy and these goons are out to find that film!!! She takes the job because of the money (her business is a little broke) although she is still angry and bitter with Nick about the way he felt her alone in that hotel room.....

Even after everything Nick did to her nine years before, there is still a strong attraction between them that I just couldn't picture....I could not feel the connection....the desire....something just didn't click....The story wasn't a bad idea and I especially liked the female being the strong and independant type which is a nice change....but I got so bored with this book because I just couldn't connect with the characters...

Not for me but I know a lot of you out there would love this book!

Summary: I love this book!
Review: I have a weakness for romances with strong heroines, and Daisy Parker didn't disappoint. And no, she's not the typical "feisty" romance heroine, jutting her chin defiantly into the air while she squeaks insults at the hero--Daisy is tough, larger than life, and amazingly funny and endearing. I warmed to her immediately, which made the mixture of emotions she ran through upon seeing old flame Nick Coltrane once again all the more real and poignant. I love this book, and I'm very much looking forward to Susan Andersen's next work.

Summary: Very disappointing
Review: I have read every Susan Andersen book in the hope of reading something as wonderful as "Obsessed." This book didn't fill my order. I just wanted to laugh at the heroine. She was ridiculous and completely unbelievable. She was a mix between Rambo and I don't know. She cuts her own hair! In the beginning of the story she is portrayed as a sexy, naive youth. Later, well, she's not. The author was very creative and I liked reading about the hero's photography, but the plot fell flat. The "action" scenes were laughable. Do yourself a favor, skip this book and hit your local library or used book store to find a copy of "Obsessed." It'll be worth your time.

Summary: I just couldn't get into the characters
Review: I have to admit that the first reaction I had to this book was disappointment. I had heard such good things about this author from friends, but I will definitely try other books by her having read other reviews about this book on this page. I rather think this book is an abberation for this author - it just isn't as good as her others. So for other first time readers of Andersen maybe we should try again.

For me I was put off from the start. Daisy Parker is a security specialist who is called in to help her ex-step-brother, Nick Coltrane, with a problem. Despite the fact that they were only step-siblings for a short period, I was put off by this fact. It still seems like they were brother and sister to me - perhaps its just a problem I have and others might not be bothered by that at all - but if they were bought up for even a short time as brother and sister, even if they aren't actually related, I just feel a bit iffy about it.

I get even more iffy since it seems that Nick took her virginity 9 years before during his real sister's wedding. Nick then walked out on her and never saw her again. The whole situation of that seems even more sordid, no matter what he thought at the time.

Anyway - Nick Coltrane needs Daisy's help to see off some goons who are after him, but he isn't telling her the whole truth. There is supposed to be a whole lot of tension as Daisy has to move in with him to protect him and they are both fighting the pain of rejection from the past and a whole lot of new emotions bought up by their closeness now, but it just doesn't gel for me. Daisy is a bit of a feisty character and sorts him out (violently) at least once - but to me the reactions seemed all wrong and forced.

There is a glimmer of humour in here which certainly helped me read much more of it than I would have normally. And like I said I am certainly going to read some of her earlier books - but this one just didn't grab me at all.

Summary: GOOD, BUT NOT HER BEST
Review: I like Susan Andersen's brand of humor and sexy stories. This book is pretty good but the plot didn't appeal to me as much as SA's other other BABY books. It was my least favorite but still worthy. I'd buy a used copy though.

Summary: Hard to stay with...
Review: I like Susan Anderson and I love her cover art - they make her books so attractive! So full points for marketing - the cover, the synopsis, they work well.

However the story was really, well, un-romantic for starters. I didn't warm to either Nick or Daisy, didn't really care what happened to them and didn't fall in love with anyone in the book. Actually, I was really disappointed with the book, it seemed to be unacceptably formulaic, and Anderson has written far better books.

I just hope the next one is back up to her usual standard.
