Rating: Summary: A very believable plot Review: The setting is Ascalon, in the Kingdom of Jerusalem. The year is 1192. King Richard "Lionheart" is in the midst of the crusades. Conrad of Montferrat, the King of Jerusalem, has just been assassinated. Rashid al-Din Sinan was called the Old Man of the Mountain. He was determined that King Richard would be the next target of the fida'i. He sent a special assassin to do the job. One he had been training since birth for a special occasion. Sinan sent his own daughter, Zahirah. Zahirah was foiled on her first attempt by a Captain. She soon managed to situate herself in the palace to await another chance. The more she stayed in the Captain's presence though, the more she began to doubt the things she had been taught. If the other "Frankish infidels" were anything like Captain Montborne, then they were not the heartless barbarians she had been led to believe. Sebastian, Earl of Montborne, was one of King Richard's trusted officers. He was a major role in the war against "the Muslim infidels". He refused to believe the assassin that got away was but a random event. Sebastian quickly found himself in a game of deep intrigue as he guarded the woman in his protection and his king! ***** A very believable plot that captured my attention immediately. The book is well written and has only a few co-characters to detract from the main hero and heroine. Everything is straight forward and no fill-ins to take up pages, because there is no need. So much is going on that time just seemed to fly by as I read! It is also obvious that the author spent a lot of time researching her book. I learned many customs of the country and about some of the King Richard's men from that time. During the story, the author used language that today's reader could understand easily, such as game of Chess and how it looks today. However, that does not mean she did not do her research! In the back the author tells the true words used for the game and the correct description. This way, the reader is never distracted by the unknown while the story is read. Don't miss this one! A remarkable book by one of today's most talented writers! *****
Rating: Summary: Fantastic Medieval! Review: This book was just fantastic! I think I had a crush on Sebastian from when I read about him in the previous book (WHITE LION'S LADY). I was very eager to read about his adventures. Well, that crush I had turned to a major case of luuuurve in BLACK LION'S BRIDE! I loved everything about this book, the crusader times locale in Arabia, the heroine who is a secret assassin, the intrigue of Sebastian hunting for the king's (almost) killer only to find out SHE is hiding under his own roof, etc, etc. This was a fantastic book with many hot sex scenes, and, a great romance with great characters you will root for and love. Bravo, Miss St. John! I will be first in line for your next book.
Rating: Summary: Loved it! Review: This is another keeper read from one of my favorite historical romance authors! I loved Sebastian of Montborne, and Zahirah, the beautiful assassin, was tortured yet compassionate. I was never sure where the plot was heading, which kept me turning pages as fast as I could. Add on a very sensual romance element and you have a true keeper of a read! Brava, Tina St. John!
Rating: Summary: One of the Best Review: This was a very good book, one of the best I ahve read in a long time. I enjoyed the characters and the story. Will look for more on this author's works.
Rating: Summary: Plodding Review: This was another great book by Tina St. John. I loved Sebastian from the White Lion book and wanted so much to see him find the love of his life, which he does, only I don't think I would have been so forgiving. I had a major problem with Zahirah, the female assassin and Sebastian's love. There were just too many things she did that I personally could not and would not be able to overlook - but perhaps that is just 'my problem'. Otherwise, this is an exciting story, very fast read with no dull moments in between. The sex was hot and luscious. I loved seeing the references and contact with 'Blackheart' who is the hero from Lady of Valor. Really a super well-written story that I have come to expect from St. John now that I have read all her books. I look forward to her next offerings.

Rating: Summary: WOW! A don't miss read. Review: Tina St. John blew my socks off with WHITE LION'S LADY, and when she introduced Sebastian of Montborne in that book, I thought he deserved a book of his own. In BLACK LION'S BRIDE, St. John delivers!! The heroine of this book, Zahirah, is a Muslim assassin set to kill Richard the Lionhearted during the Crusades. But when she's unwittingly tied to Sebastian, a Crusader and one of her sworn enemies, the sparks really fly. The characters in this book are well-drawn, and the plot twists and turns are anything but predictable. The setting was well-researched and added texture to the already-spectacular story. I absolutely could not put this book down! An A+ read from a not-to-be-missed author. Highly recommended!

Rating: Summary: Captivating! 4.5 (four stars and a half) Review: Tina St. John distinguishes herself as a leader in the Romance Novel writing industry. The story, Black Lion's Bride, had many spins and turns woven into it and I found that this is not in the least a predictable book as much for romance novels go. If you want to be swept away right along with the characters of the story, I encourage you to read Black Lion's Bride.
Rating: Summary: Never lets you down Review: Wow! This was excellent - a FAST read that kept me worrying and wondering the whole time. There was not one dull moment and I will surely pick up this book and read it again because its a keeper!
