Summary: Only the beginning..
Review: A first step in the journey of a deeper understanding of the Father's love.

A must "read" for those who enjoy historical fiction from a Godly perspective.

Just finished the last of the Secret of the Rose series..."Dawn of Liberty."
A lot of spiritural digestion to do. Will stay with me forever.

Love, Obedience, Forgiveness and more Love = all action words.

Summary: Freedom, love, and sacrifice
Review: A refuge, a place that seemed connected to the soul: the garden. It was a tranquil world of its own, Baron von Dortmann came here to be alone, to think, to pray. The von Dortmann family becomes entwined with an American son and father. They learn discovering God is a pathway--a lifelong pathway of continuous discovery. A cloud of dust settled over the country--Gestapo agents, storm troopers, SS. Danger is coming. It is September 1, 1939. Poland is being consumed and swallowed up by the German Fatherland. Eight were lead into the garden looking for refuge. Such is another of the garden's many mysteries. A must read book

Summary: Wonderfully Inspiring
Review: I am a fan of Michael Phillips and his talent for taking historical facts and weaving faith building stories around them. He had done another wonder with this story of WWII and I have loaned my copy out several times.

Summary: One of the best series I have ever read!!
Review: I am absolutely fascinated by historical ficiton, and the Secret of the Rose series is no exception. This book became real to me, the characters like actual people who would hear me when I yelled at them or laughed at the things they did. I read the first one on vacation in another state, then could not find the second book. The ending leaves you wondering what is going to happen next, and satisfies you when you finish the series. It is a truly amazing series.

Summary: highly to recommend!!
Review: I read this series a couple of years ago and I absolutely loved it - my husband was fascinated as well and he usually doesn't read fiction at all. It is fascinating how the author combines history, fiction and christian values. Myself I was deeply touched and moved by the different characters - I lived right with them. Since reading these books roses are even more special to me. After finishing one book I couldn't wait to start with the next one!

Summary: What an excellent book!
Review: In The Eleventh Hour Phillips manages to capture the emotions so long untold. This book begins pre-WWII in Europe with a loving, Godly man and his beautiful daughter who is still more child than woman. After they meet some American diplomats who are soon invtied for a visit you come to Lebanshaus, or the House of Life. Baron von Dortmann and his family have always opened their doors to everyone seeking spirtual and physical peace. He teaches his new friends the gift of God and his daughter Sabina helps her new friend Matthew in many ways. Secrets unfold along the way making this book suspensful near the end where the remarkable power of God will show itself in full force as it does throughout the book! Anyone who seeks spirtual fullfillment, wants to learn about Nazi persecution or just likes Michael Phillips will most certainly not be dissapointed in this book.

You have to read the next book after this one! It really left you wondering about Sabina, Matthew, and Baron von Dortmann. A must read!

Review: This entire series keeps you spell-bound. This is historical fiction at its best. However, it is also an action packed thriller. I believe those who do not even love historical fiction will enjoy this series.
