Rating: Summary: Reader Review: This is the most infantile, totally stupid book I have ever read. Grammatical errors abound. You'd really have to search to find a worse way to waste your time. I can't understand how this book ever got published. Total Drivel. Unbelievable. Author should be prohibited from owning any writing device.
Rating: Summary: A really fun book! Review: This was a really fun book - I wanted a light read to enjoy at the beach, and this was really great. It reads and flows really well. When I was half way through I found I was really caring about the choices Samantha was making: I'd say "No, don't do that!" and at night I'd go to sleep thinking about Samantha and wondering about all the things I might have done differently if I had her life. So I really got into it - it is a great beach read.
Rating: Summary: A Great Work - By A New Author! Review: To be honest - I doubted that a male author could really impress me with his version of "chick lit". I was really wrong - and should be ashamed. :) Well, I admit it - I jumped to the wrong conclusion. "A Year of Samantha" by B.D. Gardner is really smart, funny and romantic work of fiction that is a perfect for a summer day at the beach. I really enjoyed Samantha, but I have to say that Cedric was the true gem of this book for me. I really loved him and really rooted for him from the first page of the book. He was charming sweet and really loving. I loved everything about this book - and find myself telling anyone and everyone to pick up a copy. B.D. Gardner is a really talented writer and I think he has a bright future ahead of him.... who knows, maybe he could be the US's Nick Hornby. Give it a read -- it's a good one. CHEERS!
