Summary: Another winner from Kleypas
Review: Although he may not be my favorite hero, Nick Gentry rightly belongs near the top of the list. Many readers consider him THE ultimate romantic hero. I was certainly surprised by his secret, but I think it makes him more endearing. He's come a long way from his days prior to "Lady Sophia's Lover." He's still outrageously handsome, dangerous, and conflicted, but we see more of that softer side that was hinted at in LSL.

The situation set up by his taking on the job of finding the runaway Lottie and then falling for her permeates the conflicts of the book. Lottie is a fine heroine--resourceful, unassuming but strong. Considering Nick's past, she's just the woman he needs.

A splendid addition to the series.

Summary: Kleypas does it again!
Review: You simply mustn't miss the third bow-street runners book! Its amazing! Nick, our hero, has lived an awful life in the slums of London. He's been through jail and has suffered a lot there and yet he has managed to pull through, become rich and is slowly becoming more respectable due to the fact that he is now a bow street runner rather than what he was before in 'Lady Sophia's Lover', which was more or less a criminal.

THis is a story about a broken man who needs the right women to put his spirit and life to rights again. He's avoided women and sex all his life until the age of twenty-five because of the disgusting things he saw whilst he was in jail. So at the age of twenty-five he goes to a courtesan who teaches all she knows about the act of love. Then after three years he is set a case by one of his employers to find his runnerway fiance - which he does of course, hears her story, marries her himself, and finally falls in love. I thought this was a brilliant story because Nick never believed in love before and needed Lottie to show him the way after his sad previous life. I like that Nick has had sex with two women in his life but has only made love to one - thats what he says.

And the ending... Its just amazing... The way he admits his love for her is just breathtaking, believe me! RECOMMENDED!

Summary: Not much substance
Review: I was dissapointed with this one. Not much of a plot just numerous X-rated love scenes. No sexual tension, unique characters, or anything else that makes romance novels worth reading. Kleypas gives the lead characters semi-tragic pasts and lot's of relationship angst, but no personality.

Summary: One of the best romance novels I have read.
Review: This book is the epitome of what a romance novel should be. If I had to describe it in two words, it would be romantic and sensual. My only complain is that it wasn't longer. I read it in a day and a half. Literally could not put it down.

I don't agree with some reviewers that said that Nick's big secret wasn't a big deal, or that the book was written mainly from Nick's perspective and that Charlotte's character had been skimmed over. I wonder if they read the same book that I did. Because in the book I read, Nick's secret was indeed serious and the book was well balanced, giving us insights into the minds of both characters. If anything, it was written more from Charlotte's point of view, not Nick's.

I had seen this book in the bookstore many times and never got around to buy it. For some reason I didn't think that the Bow Street Runner type of hero would appeal to me. I have never been more wrong in my life. So far I have read two books of this series; "Someone to Watch Over Me" and this one, and I have loved them both. Now I can wait to read "Lady Sophia's Lover".

Worth Any Price has everything a romance novel should have. An interesting plot, extremely appealing characters, deep emotions and really hot love scenes. What more can you ask for?

If you are ready for a really good romance novel and have time (believe me, you won't want to put it down), I strongly recommend this book. Ah! And don't miss the other ones in the series either.

Summary: First Book by Kleypas and not my last
Review: I loved "Worth Any Price" which is the sequel to "Lady Sophia's Lover" which I haven't yet read but plan to read. I loved the characters and especially the erotic sexual tension and scenes that Kleypas masterfully pulls off. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good "heated" romance novel.

Summary: From the hero's point of view
Review: Kleypas writes well, and I enjoyed this even though (as mentioned by others) the plot's a little unbelievable. It was a nice change to read a book that seemed mainly on the guy than the girl though.
I'd agree that Nick's big secret didn't seem particularly serious considering his hangups, and that Charlotte's was worth looking deeper into. And yeah, I would have been more impressed if the story had been about Radnor/Howards/Charlotte.

It would be a pity if this is the last of the Bow Street Runner books. I liked the 1st 2, and always wondered what would happened to Nick Gentry. Now I'm wondering what happened to Charlotte's sisters, especially Ellie.

Summary: Good, but the warmth of romance missing...
Review: I like this writer. I liked Nick in Sophie's Lover very much and I couldn't wait to read his own story. I was a little disappointed, however. The author kept Nick's personality intact, and his genuine warmth, yet his love scenes with Charlotte were rather cold. In fact, most of LK's books have this problem. It's not the least bit romantic. Nick was mysterious, handsome, and yes, troubled. He deserved much happiness.

Summary: Priceless -- not
Review: Kleypas is a talented writer, uses words well, knows the times she writes about. But her characters in this novel are stereotypes in the worst way -- the tortured hero (whose horrific past turns out to be much less traumatizing than we were expecting), the patient, understanding heroine (who actually did have real trauma in her life that was just glossed over), the comically psychotic villain -- come on, one-dimensional at the most! The numerous bedroom scenes were too technical, too graphic, not nearly sensual enough. I simply couldn't connect with either of the characters, didn't like either of them, and easily skimmed through the almost non-existent plot.
Could have, should have been better. Don't think I'll read her again.

Summary: Good but not sure Worth any Price
Review: Written well with a good plot I read the book in 24 hours and enjoyed it.

Nick Gentry, a bow street runner and former criminal, takes a commission to find another mans runnaway fiance, Charlotte (Lottie) Howard but marries her instead. I found the action plot was more of background to the true storyline about trust and respect but it all seemed delivered in a passionless way.

Although I liked it all I was not moved by it at all. This is my first book by Lisa Kleypas I might read the prequal to this book. Lady Sofia's Lover. All in all good action, so so suspense, very good sex scenes.

Summary: This is good stuff--dysfunction can be fun
Review: This title represents my introduction to Lisa Kleypas, and I'm happy to report I wasn't disappointed. Though it lacked the fire of other titles I have read, it was hardly a letdown. I loved the tortured protagonists, and the equally tortured antagonist. I could have done without the whole "I-don't-want-my-title" bit. Who cares? And why, if Gentry refused his title, was it literally shoved down his gullet (as if he didn't have enough issues) anyway? What moved me about the book was the way that Lottie vehemently took on the task of calming the waters of Nick's tormented soul, despite his half-hearted rebellion. And I loved the sweet surrender--"It's too much...it feels to good to stop", Nick breathes into Lottie's ear. YUMMY! Some very palpable sexual tension permeates this book...

Now I have read some of Kleypas' other titles--Suddenly You, and Someone To Watch Over Me. I liked this one the best of the three. Though I stop short of calling this one a keeper, I definitely recommend the read.
