Summary: Can love really conquer all?
Review: Remember reading Harlequin Romances when you were a
teenager? If not, the plot was essentially the same
in each book: the main characters meet, fall in love,
fight, fall out of love, and eventually get back
together. Of course, the male and female leads are
stunningly beautiful and the love - making is,
naturally, earth shattering. I gave up Harlequin a
long time ago for this very reason: the plot was too
predictable. Although "Serpent In My Corner" closely
mimics a Harlequin Romance, but I still found the
novel an attention-grabbing story. A little fluff is
good now and then. If you're a person that enjoys a
good romance with a little drama thrown in, then
you'll enjoy this novel.

Hennessy Cooper, our female protagonist, is an FBI
agent. It's her job to catch a professional thief the
FBI has followed for years, Tristin James "T.J."
Jackson. Hennessy assumes the identity of a female
burglar and leaves New York for California to
apprehend T.J. However, what happens when Hennessy
finds herself falling for the handsome, sensitive and
intelligent Tristin Jackson?

Tristin lost a great love to his profession over a
year ago. He still has nightmares because he blames
himself for her death. Tristin doesn't believe that
he'll ever find someone to replace Natalie, until he
meets Hennessy Lewis, a.k.a. Hennessy Cooper.
Hennessy is not only beautiful and intelligent, she
also has a slamming body and understands him.
Hennessy is just the salve Tristin desires to heal his
broken heart.

What happens if Tristin finds out that Hennessy is
really an undercover FBI agent sent to catch him in
the act and send him to prison. Tristin decided a
long time ago, that he would NEVER return to prison.
Getting emotionally involved with the perpetrator is
NOT ALLOWED; Hennessy could lose her job if the FBI
discovers her involvement with Tristin ---- or life if
Tristin discovers her true identity. What's a girl to
do? As if Tristin and Hennessy don't have enough
barriers to their love connection, there are powerful
men in the background out to settle a score with
Tristin. Will Tristin and Hennessey overcome all of
these obstacles? You'll have to read the book to
learn how it all ends.

Summary: My Serpent, My Love
Review: Serpent In My Corner by JDaniels highlights Hennessy Cooper working as an undercover FBI agent. Hennessy's assignment is to infiltrate the robbery ring of Tristan (T. J.) James. Hennessy has followed in the footsteps of her father, a retired police officer. She is smart, witty and cunning to the point that T. J. falls for her and all bets are off. With one more robbery to add to his elusive trophy case, T. J. swears this heist will set his partners and himself financially free for life. What T. J. does not know is that someone other than the FBI is out to foil his plan for reasons of revenge. But the question remains-who is the real serpent-Hennessy or these unknown assailants.

JDaniels captivates the reader regarding T. J.'s life as she portrays his life growing up as child in South Central Los Angeles and his relationship with his mother and his former neighborhood. We relive his stint in the penitentiary and an important friendship that he cultivates until the very end. Furthermore, T. J. has a demon that haunts him daily that adds intrigue to this story filled with crime, suspense and romance. The reader is taken on a whirlwind and energetic ride from Los Angeles to Washington, D. C., to picturesque New Mexico and back again. JDaniels' descriptions of these locales provide a necessary backdrop to the story at hand.

This is an excellent and fast paced story involving matters of the heart with multicultural characters that put stereotypes to rest. No one is whom he or she appears to be.

Summary: Excitement to the very last page!
Review: The characters in this book were spellbounding. The storyline is very unique.

Hennessy Cooper is as smooth as the cognac she is named from, and Tristan Jackson is the sexy, bad boy every woman would love to just mmmmm...!

The story kept me wondering til the end. Nervous and tense, but at the same time I was mad when it was over because I wanted more more more!

I hope there will be a sequel. Great job JDaniels!

Summary: 'Just Us Girls' Book Review
Review: The ladies of 'Just Us Girls' Book Club reviewed this book in February '04. The group felt that the book started out slow but it was an easy read.

The group identified `serpents' (pg. 43 & 253) - Al Majors, Sebastian and Reynolds. The group discussed if Hennessy could be considered a `serpent'. But a `serpent' was defined in the book as someone who is close to you and intentionally trying to hurt you. The group agreed that Hennessy did not intentionally try to hurt Tristan and once she got to know him she fell in love with him.

The group did feel that Hennessy was not a believable FBI agent. She did not portray or demonstrate the strength as a trained agent. The group did not feel the author did a sufficient amount of research on what the actually FBI training entails.

The group also felt the ending was a disappointment. What will the future hold for Tristan and Hennessy?? Will there be room for a sequel?

Summary: What is a good book?????
Review: This book is one of a kind... one that gives you the elements of suspense, romance, sympathy, and compassion. The way the characters come to life shows the work of a true author. From scene to scene, chapter to chapter this book kept my mind going and my eyes glued to each and every page. When I started reading the book I really didn't know what to expect, not being able to predict the outcome are the true signs of a best seller. I would recommend that anyone looking to read a GOOD BOOK pick up Serpent in My Corner!!!
