Review: I found this book well developed with characters that were clearly defined. It had me rooting for the heroine and wanting to literally kill the villan. The author was able to develop a family fighting for their lives on the harsh Texas prairie and also described farm life and its many hardships. The new step mother was a total treat in the harshness of the children's lives. This is a good first endeavor for the 94 year old greatgrandma. Hope she continues
