Rating: Summary: Compulsively Readable! Review: After reading E. C. Sheedy's earlier novel, "Perfect Evil", I was eager to read Room 33. I've just finished reading Room 33 now, and I'm astounded at Sheedy's skill--I enjoyed Perfect Evil immensely, and found the world of Room 33 even more compelling. Sheedy has gathered together a fascinating and complex group of people under the roof of an aging hotel. We realize from the beginning that the hotel's Room 33 has a tragic history. What Sheedy adds to the mystery of Room 33 is a collection of characters that make the book compulsively readable: Joy, the successful travel writer without a home; Lana, the widow trying desperately to cash-out on the hotel she doesn't own; Christian, the compulsive agoraphobic who controls his world from the penthouse; Sinnie, the cleaning woman with a secret; and the ex-con on the third floor struggling to weave his life together.Sheedy weaves her story with sophistication and skill, drawing the reader into a world where complex characters battle danger and evil from both inside and out. Give me more of E. C. Sheedy! This author is a keeper!
