Rating: Summary: Couldn't put it down! Review: This is the first book I have ever read of Kristin Hannah's. She is an easy read. The story just flows and holds your interest thoroughly. This book prompted me to search for other books written by her and thus far, I have read four more of her books. Recommend for a cold, dreary day or a beautiful sunny summer day!
Rating: Summary: Never cried so many tears Review: I thought this book was wonderful. It explored the reasons why Annie made the choices in her life that she made. As a single mother to 3 children, it also gave me the chance to re-examine the type of role model I am for my children in contrast to the type of role model Annie felt she was for her daughter. I'm not much of a romance novel person but this was exceptional.
Rating: Summary: Wonderful Book - Read it Cover to Cover Review: This is the first book of hers that I've read. I randomly picked it up off the shelf at the library, went home and read it cover to cover without putting it down. It's a wonderful story of finding your lost self. After being a mother and wife for 20 years, Annie lost her sense of self and didn't realize she'd lost it until her daughter left for Europe and her husband tells her he's in love with a younger woman. She goes home and finds the "Annie" she's been missing all these years. I thought it was wonderfully written without being mushy or sappy.
Rating: Summary: An enjoyable book , that you will not want to put down! Review: This is the first book of Kristin Hannah's that I've read and it won't be the last. Her story of Annie Colwater is so realistic in this day and age of the modern woman. After the initial heartbreak, she tries to find who she truly is after so many years of acting the part she thought she was suppose to be for her husband. I'm glad the book doesn't go to the extreme of 'blaming' the husband for the whole situation and instead has Annie discover for herself the direction she needs to take with her life. If you want an enjoyable reading with a little heartbreak, a few tears, and some strong emotions, you must read this book.
Rating: Summary: Wow! Drop everything and get this book! Review: Kristin has lived up to the much-hyped release. This is a fantastic, many-hanky read. I couldn't put it down! Finally real characters and an impact of the beautiful pacific northwest I can relate to! Great job!
Rating: Summary: The best book I have ever read. Review: I have not read a book in a very long time, that has kept my interest from page to page. A very wonderful book.
Rating: Summary: Heart-breaking, heart-warming, tear-jerker! Unforgettable! Review: Kristin Hannah writes an amazing story of love lost and found again. Just when I needed Izzy to make a noise, she did, and just when I couldn't stand Annie and Nick hiding their passion for each other, it was revealed. Had I written this book myself, I wouldn't have changed a single thing! As an aspiring lawyer, I dream of following in Ms. Hannah's footsteps. It takes passion, creativity and life experience to develop characters so real. I felt Annie's depression, Nick's pain, Izzy's confusion, and the love shared between all of them. To anyone who loves to cry, loves to listen and loves to experience emotion, do not pass this book by!!! Thank you Ms. Hannah. P.S. Please, anyone, can you suggest another book this good?
Rating: Summary: Endearing! Delightful! Enchanting! Seized my Heart! Review: I found this book in my local small town library. I was captivated from the moment I started reading it. The story itself cries out, Read me! This story could be any of us women. Blake is a total jerk! Annie's daughter is so in tune with her Mother's anguish. I recommend this book to any women who has a heart filled with love. Tissue a must! I give this book a first class rating!
Rating: Summary: Another Incredible Book by Kristin Hannah!!! Review: On Mystic Lake is a wonderful story about a woman who loses herself in the midst of family relationships and responsibilities. Hannah does a beautiful job of letting the reader see the pain of a broken heart and the healing of that same heart by way of realizing what is really important in life. Teaches some good lessons, as well. Very well done!!!
Rating: Summary: On Mystic Lake was heartwarming and uplifting. Review: Love is the tie that binds and Ms. Hannah is a good story teller showing us that sometimes it is complicated too. She has a great ablility to make us feel the emotions her characters feel in those complex but maybe not too uncommon situations and to bring us entertainment that we want more of even when we finish the book. It's one of those books that keeps us wanting for the time we can sit and read just for the enjoyment of reading. Refreshing writing for women's fiction like Ms. Hannah's, will keep a newcomer like me coming back for more.
