Summary: Perfection!
Review: It is the most perfect companion for the most perfect novel ever written!! It is a dream come true to FINALLY know what makes our hero tick! To know what is behind every smoldering look... I wish I could give it more than 5 stars!

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Very Entertaining
Review: It was nice to read a believable version of P&P from Darcy's perspective. I can't wait for the two remaining volumes.

Summary: a fine line
Review: It's a fine line between a comedy of manners with romantic aspects and a romance novel. While Ms Aidan has a more literate style of writing than do the Harlequin novelists, all too often she falls on the wrong side of that line in this book. It seems the primary feature of this novel is the often-repeated pronouncement of Mr Darcy's infatuation with Elizabeth Bennet.

I have to say that I am also feeling ripped off, not even getting to the marriage proposal in this first, quite expensive installment of three. It would appear that the second volume doesn't even deal with his relationship with Lizzie, but I don't expect to be buying it - unless I find it super-cheap somewhere.

I read all the way through, and for the most part was amused - but really, not much has been added to what Jane Austen wrote in the first place.

Summary: A splendid jewel
Review: Like the numerous avid readers to this splendid offering, I too am entralled with Book I of Pamela Aidan's "Fitzwilliam Darcy, Gentleman" chronicle. This is a MUST read.

This book clearly stands out among the hordes of "Pride and Prejustice" sequel. Its excellence does not lie only with the obvious -- beautiful crafted language, blending with historical references, -- but, more importantly, it is savored more and more upon subsequent readings and inspired thoughts to Jane Austen's timeless classic.

Summary: A must for any Pride and Prejudice fan...
Review: Most of the Pride and Prejudice sequels or adaptations are pale imitations that Austen fans read desperately looking for the same emotional response as they get from the original.

As a self-professed P&P junkie, Pamela Aidan's book gave me the same thrill I got when reading Pride and Prejudice for the first time. (Those among you who are fellow junkies will understand what a statement this is.) She is true to Jane Austen's sensibilities, while injecting her own wit and humor.

I wait impatiently for the next two installments and hope Pamela doesn't stop there.

Summary: Finally...a good sequel to Jane Austens masterpiece!
Review: Pamela Aidan has produced the best sequel I have read so far! She captures the essence of Jane Austens characters so well! Austen would have been throughly pleased with the depiction of her characters. A few new characters are added to the story, all of them compliment the original ones!

I seriously could not put this book down. Half way through reading this book, I was ordering the next book in the three part series!

The book really does gives you an appropriate understanding of Darcy and the kind of person that he is.

Obviously no one can tell the story better than Jane Austen herself, but Aidan does an excellent job of adding to the original story. Gladly she does not destroy JA's characters as other authors have done before her!

Absolutely recommend this to serious P&P fans!

Summary: An Assembly Such as This
Review: Pamela Aidan is a fabulous writer and she has captured the Austen genre, added some sex appeal, yet still remains within the spirit of 19th century England. Can't wait for the next two volumes.

Summary: Absolutely Stunning Companion to Pride & Prejudice
Review: Pamela Aidan's Mr. Darcy comes alive as in no other Pride and Prejudice sequel. Beautifully written and true to Jane Austen, it is a joy to read. You will learn of Darcy's thoughts, how his feelings for Elizabeth develop, and cleverly and believably fills in the gaps of his life not seen in the original book. You will also be introduced to other characters who people Darcy's life and will become better acquainted with Georgianna. This book is a must for every Jane Austen and Pride & Prejudice fan.

Summary: A must for devotees of P&P
Review: Pamela does a superior job of re-telling Jane Austen's Pride & Prejudice. This book cleverly and creatively gives an account of events from Mr. Darcy's perspective. The dialogue and story flow seamlessly -- I'm constantly amazed that it's being written by a modern day author. Her research, knowledge, and passion for the time period are obvious by the detail she includes in the story. It's an incredible book. I can't wait for the second volume to be published.

Summary: A great read
Review: Pride and Predjuce is one of my favorite books. I have read other books that try to countiune the story and they all seem to have lost the character of the book that Jane Austen wrote.

This book is different. It is great. It is a true love story to Jane and to the fans of Darcy. In these pages you really discover the heart of the man that we get glimpses of in the original. We also get a perspective of what Darcy was going through as we watch his interaction with Lizzy from a new perspecitve.

This is the first of 3 books by Pamela Aiden that mirrors the timeless story of misunderstood love.

It will have you glued to the page. Highly recommended for Jane Austen fans an those who may have been intimidated by her in the past- you will re-discover the art of story telling.
