Summary: Humorous tale with a message
Review: Her partner persuaded Stacy St. Cyr to take a needed vacation at an Arkansas spa. Though she preferred to stay in New Orleans running the St. Cyr and Bell Advertising and Public Relations agency, she knew her best friend was right that she needed some time away to rejuvenate her juices. Now her collie True is ailing in Doolittle and a gas attendant sends her to Dr. Halliday, insisting that Dr. Mike is the best vet around even if he can't talk with the animals.

Expecting to meet a bumpkin just like the gas attendant who is Dr. Mike's brother, instead Stacy finds a compassionate, intelligent hunk. Mike asks her why she is in this out of the way back woods. Stacy fibs, saying she is looking for a retirement home for her parents. When Blue needs a few convalescent days, Stacy thinks time with the stud will prove more enjoyable than a spa. That is until her lie, his two daughters, and love mess up both their minds.

Fans of contemporary romance will find that TANGLED UP IN LOVE will quickly capture their attention and never let it go until the tale is complete. Stacy learns rather fast how one innocent lie can lead to complications trying to keep it straight as her seemingly innocent mendacious statement haunts her while she tries the get closer with Dr. Mike. The story line never takes itself seriously though Hailey North provides a strong moral simplification of "what a tangled web we weave when we first deceive" within the plot.

Summary: Where can I order One Dr. Mike to go....
Review: If only a man really existed like Dr. Mike <yum>. Okay on with the book. I have read all of Hailey North's books and love them all. This was a good book but not my favorite. The story was sweet and funny, but I thought there were parts that needed to be written more about namely the parents. An epilogue would have made this book a 5 star read I am sure.

Summary: oh please...
Review: spare me. I love romantic fiction - honest I do. I even like them a little riské sometimes. But c'mon. I'm not going to recap the blurb from the back of the book, as that is shown here on this site, but I will tell you my thoughts after reading this book. This heroine, Stacey - supposedly, a little love-shy from being ditched practically at the altar by another man - really jumps the gun in the s-e-x dept. It really didn't fit who her character was supposed to be at all. Every chance she got she was rubbing all over Dr. Mike's crotch! She seemed more "experienced" to me than anything else and that just isn't my cup of tea where this kind of book is concerned. She wasn't playing hard to get at all. As a side note, the first "love" scene (if you know what I mean here) is NOT your usual fare - but not necessarily in a good way. For their "first time" it was just more distracting than entertaining. Other than those two points, the book was a light summer read. If you are planning on reading Hailey North, though, I would recommend "Pillow Talk" or "Dear Love Doctor" as preferable options to this book.

Summary: Entertaining read
Review: This was my first for this author. A little unrealistic and predictable, but an enjoyable and easy read.

Summary: First read by North, but not my last...
Review: Workaholic Stacey St. Cyr's assistant has finally talked her into taking a much needed vacation....

Can... two strong-minded people put aside past hurts and issues of trust to become a happy family?

TANGLED UP IN LOVE is a delightful, heartwarming and tender tale of romance. Michael and Stacey shine as small-town vet meets big city executive. You wonder how the two will ever solve their differences in order to find happiness and the author doesn't disappoint. Secondary characters are typical of small-town life and I especially liked the two older women that ran The Schoolhouse Inn where Stacey stayed.....

I highly recommend TANGLED UP IN LOVE as a great romantic comedy with very sympathetic and passionate characters. This is my first read by Ms. North, but it won't be my last!
