Rating: Summary: Wicked Angel -- Not Bad Review: "Wicked Angel" is a continuation of the characters and setting of "Devil's Love." I found I did not like it as much as the latter, but I doubt Julia London could write a bad book if she tried. While not outstanding, I thought the romance was well-written and heartwrenching. I found I didn't care for either the hero or the heroine as much, because neither of them had very original or interesting personalities, but there was really nothing wrong with them. This book is a good read, and others liked it more than I did, so I would recommend it if you liked "Devil's Love" or the typical romance. Honestly, it's not bad, it just doesn't quite hold the same flame as Abbey and Michael's romance did.

Rating: Summary: Julia London is the best new author I've read! Review: A friend told me about Julia London, and I am now a huge fan! This is the best book I've read in ages...she has wonderful characters and a story that hasn't been done before, which is really refreshing. I adored Alex. He's the kind of guy you dream about. I think London is going to be a really big name! I HIGHLY recommend this book!
Rating: Summary: Agonizing Review: After reading the first two books in this series, I don't think I can read anymore. Don't get me wrong. I think she writes very well. Her characters are believable and she does a great job of creating sexual tension, but the stories are so heart wrenching. Perhaps I am just too sensitive, but by the time I reached the happy ending, I was so emotionally drained that the ending seemed anticlimactic. I think the characters had to experience too much pain before they could be together - it was moving, but not what I look for in a romance novel.
Rating: Summary: MAGNIFICENT LOVE STORY!!! Review: Fantastic! Julia London weaves a brilliant, dazzling love story. Alex is a hero to-die-for; his character is complex, sensual and strong. Lauren seems so real, making it easy to empathize with her feelings and get completely sucked into the tale. Ms. London has a talent for writing vivid, emotional love stories with compelling secondary characters. I couldn't put it down! Wonderful book Ms. London!
Rating: Summary: Couldn't Help Liking it Despite All the Mistakes Review: I agree with the reviewer who said this book is replete with extremely irritating historical inaccuracies (you never address someone "Countess Bergen," you call them "Lady Bergen," and that's just one of numerous mistakes) and even inconsistencies within the series (she changes "Southerland" to "Sutherland" and forgets which address she gave him). London evades historical detail like the plague, probably because she couldn't be bothered to research them properly. The author appears entirely unacquainted with social mores: for example, a woman never went around unescorted, but her heroine does, even to balls. The characters were reasonable and likeable until they both lost their minds three-quarters of the way through. But despite all that, I have to say that I liked it. She writes well, and I'll forgive a lot for decent writing (difficult to find in the romance genre). She writes beautiful, romantic speeches for her characters. She has a gift for dialogue. Her characters are vivid despite their enormous flaws. Her plot is intriguing without trying to be more profound than it is (I can't stand romances that take themselves too seriously). No one could have been more surprised than I was when I couldn't put this book down, but I couldn't. Which leads me to conclude that whether you like it or not just depends upon how you weigh the different aspects of a story -- if you can't abide historical mistakes, don't buy this book. If you like a well-written, engaging story, you'll like this one. If you want good all-around romance, stick to Georgette Heyer. (If you need the sex scenes, but still want decent writing, try Jo Beverley or Loretta Chase.)
Rating: Summary: Emotion, not fluff Review: I am an avid reader. I have read a lot of romance. This is one of the best, if not the best I have ever read. London writes with powerful emotions, not just fluff like so many of them. If you are going to read a romance, I highly recommend this book. It was fantastic. Great book!
Rating: Summary: Absolutely Fabulous ! Review: I found Wicked Angel to be everything I wanted it to be and MORE! I laughed, I cried, I LOVED every page of it. Julia London is now and will forever be one of my favorite authors. In my book she rates right up there with Johanna Lindsey and Julia Quinn. I ran to the bookstore and bought her other two novels, The Dangerous Gentleman and Devil's Love and am anxiously awating The Ruthless Charmer! I look forward to a refreshing new series!
Rating: Summary: Couldn't Help Liking it Despite All the Mistakes Review: I hated this book! I thought that the heroine acted like an idiot. Not that the hero didn't, both of them tried to be so upstanding and moral. Give me a break! This is a romance novel not a treatise on philosophy.
