Rating: Summary: A lovely Christmas anthology Review: This is a lovely anthology of novellas by the Mistress of the Christmas novella.Four are some of her classics.I espec- ially loved "No Room At the Inn" which is one of the best retel- ling of the First Christmas ever written. This story revolves a- round a group of Christmas travelers stranded at an inn&their reactions to the arrival of a young poor couple traveling in search of work&the imminent birth of their child. The new story is all about an estranged couple who weren't left alone by the girl's mother after their arranged marriage.Because of this they were holding each other at arms length.I really loved this book.
Rating: Summary: Only worth buying if you haven't read the older stuff Review: Wish I could give a split star review.... If you haven't read the previously published stories, this is a four-star item, and worth buying. BUT if you're a Balogh fan and have read the older stuff, I'd think twice before shelling out even the reduced Amazon price in order to get the new story, which is not up to her usual high standards. I've read everything she's ever published; this story feels like leftovers, with elements from older stories sort of hashed together. Mary, Mary....
