Rating: Summary: My Favorite Novel by Ms. Proctor!!! Review: I swear, Candice Proctor's writing gets better and better with each book. THE LAST KNIGHT, her most recent book, is what I believe to be her best novel yet. Full of adventure and true romance, it's a story that fits perfectly in the romance genre. Attica d'Alerion and Damion de Jarnac are the most passionate characters that I have had the chance to read. They admitted that they loved each other from the start and weren't even afraid of showing it. They did anything they could to protect each other from danger. Damien saved Attica's life twice, and both times Damien told Attica to run to safety, but she would not budge and infact helped Damien ward off the enemies - this is just a small example of courage in both characters. Both of them were intelligent, determined, and charming. I loved every part of the book, and was very sad when I finished it. I highly recommend THE LAST KNIGHT, it is romance writing at its best.
Rating: Summary: Candice does it again! Review: I've worked on four books with Candy now, and each one gets better and better. She is not only a gifted storyteller, but her writing is truly luminous, and she has an amazing ability to create a sense of place and atmosphere like no other writer in the genre. If you haven't read her before, you don't know what you're missing... Shauna Summers, Senior Editor
Rating: Summary: Reminiscent of Roberta Gellis's medievals Review: In 1189 Brittany, Lady Attica d'Alerion learns that Richard and Philip plan to attack Henry when the conference at La Ferte-Bernard collapses. Attica worries that the enemy armies will kill her beloved brother Stephen, a knight loyal to Henry. Trusting no one including her betrothed Fulk, Attica masquerades as a man to ride off to her nearby uncle so he can, in turn, warn Stephen.Damien de Jarnac is a mercenary who currently works for the English King. He rides all over Brittany seeking proof that the French King Philip plans treachery at the upcoming conference. Damien meets the disguised Attica on the road, but soon realizes his new companion is a beautiful intrepid woman. As they fall in love, he not only must deal with his past, but also decide between his country and his heart. Best-selling author Candace Proctor has written a stirring medieval romance that will bring much entertainment to fans of the sub-genre. The story line is fast-paced and filled with action as the era comes to vivid life. Though the late twelfth century has been the backdrop of way too many romances, moving the plot to Brittany bring a definite freshness to the tale. The lead charcaters are brave even as they struggle with differing and warring loyalties. Ms. Proctor seems destined to return to the best-selling lists with this enjoyable historical romance. Rating: Summary: The Last Knight Review: Read some of the pages and this book just does not capture the imagination.
Rating: Summary: Delightful!! Review: This book was absolutely delightful! The characters were brave and noble, the chemistry between hero and heroine was just right and...(the part I liked best).. is that they actually had FUN! They ran, they romped, they escaped, they trembled, they held hands, they (both!) realized they loved each other --- and this was in the MIDDLE of the book! Yahoo! No denial, denial, denial of their emotions until the second to last page of the book. This was MUCH more enjoyable, to have the 2 main characters have some romance and fun without all that angst. My only minor criticism, is the (yuckky) names: The heroine's name was Attica and her promised fiance's name was Fulk. The hero's name was Damion, which was fine. I just thought the lovely heroine deserved a better name than Attica. The Last Knight is highly recommended, just like all of Candice Proctor's other books. P.S. Did you know that the author's sister is Penelope Williamson, another terrific romance author? I found that out by reading all these Amazon reviews.
Rating: Summary: Captivating Review: This is an awesome book-one of my favorite books of all time, and Candice Protor's best book yet. The characters are funny, smart, strong and brave. Best of all, I love the ending, and the romance between the two main charactors. If you are looking for a good laugh, and a melting love story, I recommend you read this one!
Rating: Summary: INDEED! Review: This is my first book of Candice Proctor and happily not the last. THE LAST KNIGHT is one of the books recommended to me. To my dismay, I didn't pick this book up sooner just because Candice Proctor was unknown to me. shucks! I didn't really pay much attention to it until I decided to check the ratings. The all "5 stars" rating and the intriguing comments turned me into buying this book. I am truly thankful for all the reviewers who have left their helpful comments... not only did I have a fabulous time, I found myself a new worthy author to look into. I totally agree with the rest of the reviewers here... Indeed, this book is captivating! Full of love, passion and adventure. It was a lovely change to read a hero and heroine expressing their love to each other from the very start of the story. No hesistations, no pretentious, no denials. They love each other, said so and showed it with passion. This book is about a knight with a dark past who swore fealty to the King and a young Lady who is caught between loyalty, treachery and family honor. Damion and Attica are both honorable people. They both have set the same high standards of values. Attica: proud, strong willed, courageous and loyal. Damion might not admit it willingly but he is chivalrous, loyal and a true gentleman. So what happends when all these honorable traits (especially Loyalty) hinders love and happiness? What to do when values and strong beliefs stands between love and life? Which path to choose? Ah, truly a heart-stopping, heart warming read. A very entertaining book! I can't wait to read more of Ms. Proctor's works.

Rating: Summary: a good book Review: This is the first book I've read from this author and I really enjoyed it. It took me several days to read because its so full of excitment and passion and love that you want to read it slowly to catch every word and meaning.the characters are very well developed and the history behind the story is ruch and full. This book didn't gloss over the history or the reality of the time period, it showed that even though things were not always beautiful that love could still be found. The story starts off with the heroine, Attica d'Alerion taking care of a sick man in the home of her betrothed, Fulk the Fat. She discovers that the man is carrying secret documents that hold the fate of King Henry's life. Her brother is a knight with Henry and she fears for his safety so she disquises herself as a boy and flees to save him. Along the way she encounters a knight named Damion de Jarnac, who saves her from a certain death. He doesn't know that he is actually a she. When he realizes this he vows to protect her and help her on her way to save her brother. Damion is on a mission of his own for Henry and soon finds that his mission and hers are inner twined together. When her uncle betrays them she must rescue him and together they flee to Henry. While fleeing they discover their love for each other. They fight it because they know it can never be. When they can no longer fight the passion and love the love scene is so touching and beautiful that it makes you want to cry. This book is filled with mystery, excitment, passion, tenderness, humor, and best of all love. I plan on reading many others by this author.
Rating: Summary: Soul Mates Review: This was a captivating story. The love story between Damion and Attica was tender and passionate. It was refreshing to read a romance novel where the basis of the story was not revolving around sex. I believe the book was so much more enjoyable because you were thoroughly involved in the story line. Candace Proctor wrote a beautiful story that allowed me to feel the joys and sorrows of this tale. I have read "Night in Eden" also by Candace Proctor but must say "The Last Knight" was by far a better read. This love story is one of the reasons I enjoy reading historical romances. If you have not read this book I strongly recommend it. I don't think you'll be sorry.
