Summary: THE best book I have EVER read!
Review: Once I started, I could not put this book down. I have actually read it all the way through twice. This book needs to go down in the "Best All Time Romantic Books" list. I literally read this lengthy book in two nights. This is the first book that actually brought real tears to my eyes. I just finished Paullina Simon's "Red Leaves" and was a little disppointed in it. It was nothing compared to "The Bronze Horeseman". I have recommended this book to all of my friends and I highly recommend it to you. If you like a true romance and war time drama, you will like "The Bronze Horseman". Enjoy!

Summary: Best read ever!
Review: Just got done reading this book at work today and had to hold back the tears just in case my boss saw me weeping myself silly. This book is absolutely riveting. I couldn't put it down and here I am hours later still thinking about it. The characters get into your skin and you can't help but feel for them. I wish that Paullina Simons will have a sequel to this because the ending (I won't give it away) shouldn't be left at that. My heart will break if it is. Anyway, go out and buy this now, you won't regret it.

Summary: One of the best books I've ever read!
Review: I read this book about 2 years ago and as many others have written, was completely swept away by it. I spent every non-working waking hour and many hours meant for sleeping reading it until it was finished, and then was desperately disappointed it was over.

Today I was looking for a book to buy a friend who is having a particularly hard time right now(I wanted a book to take her mind off her troubles) and after wandering around a bookstore for an hour, all of a sudden it came to me - The Bronze Horseman.

This is one book you absolutely won't regret buying!

Summary: Deserves a Pulitzer Prize and beyond
Review: "The Bronze Horseman" has amazingly many layers. It's a great love story, but it is also an amazingly realistic description of Leningrad during World War II, a tribute to eveything that's great in the Russian culture, and a testament to the power of dreams.

Dedicated to the grandparents of the author, "who have lived through World War I, the Russian Revolution and the Russian Civil War, the siege of Leningrad and evacuation, through famine and purges, through Lenin and Stalin, and in the golden twilight of their lives, through twenty non-air-conditioned summers in new York City," to me the book represents the pain, hopes, efforts and sacrifices of EVERYONE who survived the Soviet Union.

It requires a Russian to pull off such a believable cast of characters and events, and Paullina Simons has outdone herself.

One of the best creative works I have ever experienced, right up there with "Gone With The Wind" (Margaret Mitchell), "The Czar's Madman" (Jaan Kross), "Cinema Paradiso", Andrea Bocelli and other such Great Masters and their Works.

Summary: A great love story.....
Review: This is the story of Tatiana, a young Soviet girl, and her love for a Soldier name Alex. Alex has been dating, Tatiana's older sister, Dasha. Because of the closeness between Dasha and Tatiana, Tatiana is reluctant to admit the truth about her secret love for Alex. This creates numerous problems for all parties concerned.

To make matters worse, the Germans have attacked Russia, and war is about break out.

I really enjoyed this novel. It really does live up to its reputation as being one of the most popular books released this year.

My only problem with it, is I disliked the fact that Alex and Tatiana were not truthful with Dasha about their relationship. Also, Tatiana, was quite young, and I prefer heroines who are older.

Overall, a great book with some amazing descriptions of war and life in Soviet Russia.

Summary: A must read!
Review: I am an avid reader who enjoys a variety of writing styles and authors. The Bronze Horseman, however, is one of the few books that stuck in my mind for weeks after I finished reading it. I couldn't put it down and when I finished it I went out and bought the three other books by Paulina Simons. I can't wait for the next Paulina Simons' novel. I hope it continues the story of Tatiana and Alexander.

Summary: A Must Read
Review: I became so engrossed in this story that I did not want to do anything but read. It is an outstanding book, characters well-developed, interesting subject matter and a real page-turner. It's a story about love, war, relationships that is so powerful you will think about it for days after you have finished reading it. You will not want this book to end. I'd love to see the author write a sequel. I am a very discerning reader who is highly critical of authors writing styles, weak story lines, etc. so I won't steer you wrong when I highly recommend this novel.

Summary: MESMERISING
Review: I have just finished this book last night and thought I was a freak for feeling so much for two made up characters. After reading some of the other reviews, I see the feelings I have after reading this book are common. You forget everything else around you, food, sleep, work and just want to read. I can't even start another book at the moment for as I don't want to betray Alexander and Tatiana. I cannot recommend this book enough and urge everyone who is thinking of picking up this book. DO IT!! But be warned of the complete mesmerising power it will have over you.

Summary: Encore Ms. Simons! Encore!
Review: I dislike reviews that give away the plot in its entirety so I won't get into a detailed description of the storyline and spoil it for you. I will say that the setting is war torn Russia, 1941. You will see incredible ruinous visions of the suffering, mentally and physically, of the Russian people during their struggle for life and the horrors that befell their cities, specifically of Leningrad. In the novel you will meet many compelling and poignant characters. The spotlight is on the luminous Tatiana, a brave young woman torn between her passion for one and her devotion for another. There is also Alexander, the tormented soldier with a troubled past who risks it all to save her in every way he can. Read it! This is absolutely the best book I have ever read. I finished the book months ago it seems as if these characters are still living with me. And if you've already read it and are longing for more, let's hope that the sequel "The Bridge to Holy Cross" will give us what we wish for. . . Shura! Shura!
