Summary: A Great Escape
Review: I just now finished Once A Pirate. I enjoyed it tremendously. I just could not put it down. I only read time travel romance books and this was one of the best I have ever read. I love this author's style, it is full of humor, suspense, and great characters.

Thank you for a few hours of pure enjoyment and a wonderful escape from a hectic day.

Summary: Good read
Review: I liked the book because the plot was quite original. The story started out really good but I have to agree with some other reviewers that the middle part of the book IS a bit boring (to say the least). Carly does not try very hard to convince anyone she is from the future, that bothered me a bit. And there are many pages were nothing really significant to the story happens. But the ending is original and satisfying, so I could close the book with a smile.

Summary: I WAS NOT disappointed by this wonderful novel
Review: I loved Sue Grant's Once A Pirate. I felt as if I were really there with the characters. I could smell the ocean. I don't usually read time-travel, but I enjoyed this one very much. I'll read anything now from Sue Grant.

Summary: Awesome!
Review: I loved this fast-paced romp on the high sea! Carly and Andrew kept me smiling all night. Thanks Susan for this spectacular first book.

Summary: Not what I expected
Review: I read some of the wonderful reviews posted here and I purchased Once A Pirate. I was highly disappointed. Weak, simpering, characters give me a headache. I would also expect Andrew, who is the leader of the Pirate Ship, to not have such upstanding, prudish, traits. poor Characterization is a huge disappointment, but then again, maybe it's just me.

Summary: Great!
Review: I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Carly and Andrew make a great pair of lovers. Their characters are nicely developed as are the first mate, the cook and the other seamen. The ending was so very well written - for a time travel novel this book has a lot of credibility. I am looking forward to reading Ms. Grant's "The Star King". For a new writer of romantic fiction (at least I assume she is new) Susan Grant shows an outstanding proficiency. I hope she keeps writing - I am a fan!

Summary: An Excellent Read!
Review: I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I admit I'll never look at mangoes in quite the same way! I very much cared about the characters and what happened to them. The ending came as quite a surprise and I loved the resolution. The pace was fast and never slowed for me. I would have prefered the book to be even longer, but I suppose that's because I didn't want it to end!

Summary: A book for my keeper shelf!
Review: I'm a fan of a well-written time-travel romance, and this did not disappoint.

The characters were well-drawn, with real emotions. It was easy to fall in love with both Carly and Andrew--and to root for them when all seemed lost.

The ending was a surprise--and a thrill. I will definitely shelve this one on my "keeper shelf."

I look forward to reading Ms. Grant's next book, THE STAR KING.

Summary: I enjoyed it.
Review: It was a rainy day and a friend had given me this book to read. I finally picked it up that day. I really enjoyed it.
