Rating: Summary: GREAT BOOK Review: This is an excellent book. Has some mystery, some intrigue and romance. The book causes you to become involved with the characters. It is a book I could hardly put down. One I couldn't wait to finish and yet hated it when it ended. I felt like I was leaving friends behind. Keep up the excellent work, Judith. Can't wait for the next one.
Rating: Summary: Someone to Watch Over Me Review: I loved the book. At first I didn't know if I wanted her husband to be dead or not. Her husband was a creep and didn't deserve her. By the end of the book, I was cheering for Michael. He got his chance to win her and he did. I also liked that the detectives got together too and without putting their jobs in jeopardy. It was nice to see Joe again. My personal favorite of her books is "Perfect". I read that one again and again.
Rating: Summary: McNaught Has Done It Again Review: Great read, good plot, this book certainly didn't disappoint me. Having read all Ms. McNaught's books, I know I will have a wait until she publishes another new one. Paradise and Perfect are my two all-time favorite books, and this one came quite close to them.
Rating: Summary: a review for someone to watch over me Review: i'm just truly dissapointed with this book. initially mcnaught was writing about a time travel story, which i think would turn up better than this book, but then she rewrote it into this one. i wasn't really interested but considering of her bestsellers i succumbed. limited amount of romance and why does everyone in her books always become friends in the end anyways? how incredibly naive and cheesy. i don't know, don't hold on to my review if you're a big fan of hers though.
Rating: Summary: Definitely Not Up To Speed On This One! Review: I've read other books by this author and liked them. Not so on this one. This book dragged. I had the impression the author couldn't make up her mind if she was writing a mystery or a romance. If both which is what I suspect, she fell short of the mark. I'm sorry I didn't wait for the paperback. The three year wait for this book was not worth it. The book definitely did not leave me with a memory of it. In fact, I couldn't wait to get rid of it by passing it on to a friend. I'm hopeful the next book will be better and not so . . . thrown together.
Rating: Summary: NOT TIME TRAVEL! Review: If like me, you read Judith McNaught's new novel, Someone to Watch Over Me, expecting it to be a time travel romance novel, you will be disappointed as this is defintely NOT. It's not a bad novel, just NO time travel involved. I don't really like contemporary novels, but if you do read one, it is worth your time. It is contemporary romance/suspense genre and it has excellent characterization and interesting plot. I happen to like Ms. McNaught's historical better, but I do enjoy her work.
Rating: Summary: Includes Spoilers Review: I thought that the relationship between the minor characters was more interesting than the relationship between the main characters. The lead detective was such an intriguing and much more complex character than Leigh's love interest. I found it hard to believe that Leigh would fall in love again so soon. She obviously loved her husband very much. We are supposed to believe that Leigh's new love is the kind that is destined, that falling in love is something that catches you. But I think that most women would have been too hurt, unless they didn't love their husband all that much. In such a short grieving period, the next man in our lives would most likely be a rebound guy. It just happened too quickly. There weren't enough scenes leading up to the romance between the main characters. It would have been more believable if Leigh had some doubts about her husband's character before the accident and during her flashbacks in the hospital. I was kind of disappointed. Waiting so long for the book to come out, expecting it to be a little bit better than "Night Whispers," but "Night Whispers" was more consistent. I think her last real quality book was "Perfect."
Rating: Summary: This book WAS worth the wait... Review: Leigh Kendall and Logan Manning - the perfect couple who have it all. Logan, an architect, purchases a remote country property, where he plans to build their dream home. Leigh leaves to join Logan for her first visit to their new property, but in a blizzard, is run off the road. Leigh awakens in the hospital only to find out Logan has disappeared, and she has become a prime suspect in the case. Enter the mysterious Michael Valente, one of McNaught's best tall, dark and dangerous heroes, to lend assistance to Leigh in the search of her husband. The case of secondary characters is superb. Investigating officers Mac McCord and Samantha Littleton add depth and credibility to the police investigation, not to mention the sizzling romance budding between them. Bring back a character or two from previous books, and the mix is perfect. As the plot unfolds, we learn Logan was not the man his wife thought he was, but then neither is Michael Valente. Suspects abound, and all of them seem to have good reason for wanting to get even with Logan. Throw in some dirty politics with all of these multi-layered characters, and the suspense builds until the final pages. With the romance and suspense so intricately woven, the emotions this author evokes will keep you glued to your chair until the final page.
Rating: Summary: Good not Great Review: I have enjoyed this book. The mystery aspect of this book was great. But I couldn't help but feel this was rush job. The other characters didn't fit well in this novel such as the two detectives falling in love the same time as Leigh and Michael cmon on. The ending was too long and drawn out. I agree with other readers get Perfect instead
Rating: Summary: Unrealistic Review: Broadway's most beloved darling wakes up in the hospital with her very rich, handsome, successful husband missing. But in short order she is assisted and courted by another very rich, handsome, successful man. I read the first half of the book, did not even care how it ended.
