I'm glad they got a story of their own. I enjoyed all the different storylines in the book. I do hope there will be another book about Cassandra or Whit.

Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Only the 3rd D. Garlock novel I`ve read. Loved it! Review: I just completed reading this book. I had a difficult time putting it down. I enjoyed all the characters, however, even though Jenny and Trell were suppose to be the main characters, I found Travor and Colleen to be the much stronger characters. I liked Jenny`s fiestiness and enjoyed Cassandra`s verbal quips but wished a little more "omph" for Trell, who I found to be more in the background or in the shadow of Travor. I love the way characters from previous books find thier way back and was glad to see Dillon Tallman "mosey" his way into this book. I hope in the future there will be a bigger story line for him and maybe, a lady love? I`m going out tomorrow to find me another Dorothy Garlock book!! I`m hooked!
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Loved It! Review: I just finished this book and loved it...all the different charactors kept the book interesting I couldn't put it down. The ending was a little disappointing, but the rest of the story made up for it. I hope that there is a book to follow about Cassandra and Whit.

Rating: ![3 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-3-0.gif) Summary: disappointing Review: I really thought this book was just okay. It started out to be very good but then got to be boring. At first the story seemed to be about Jenny and Trell. Later Trell was a very small part. Travis seemed to take over. There was a lot going on, but it just stopped being interesting. I would like to read about Cassandra or Dillon. I liked Larkspur very much and was a little disappointed with this.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: A winner by anyone's standards Review: In 1884, Virginia "Jenny" Hepperly leaves her teaching job to return to her hometown of Allentown, Pennsylvania based on a pleading letter from the family cook. Jenny's deceased father had placed guardianship of his two youngest daughters (nine year old Cassandra and four year old Beatrice) in the hands of Charles Ransome, his son-in-law and Charles' wife, Margaret (Jenny's sister). Charles is a religious fanatic, who physically and mentally abuses the children under the guise of piously raising them. Jenny kidnaps her two younger siblings and heads to the Wyoming Territory where she can not be expedited back to the states. Jenny begins to teach at the local Indian school. The Indian agent wants her to leave because of the nature of a will that will allow either the teacher to inherit a large spread if she stays or place the land up for auction (below market rates). Jenny also meets and falls in love with Trell McCall, a kind local rancher. However, before they can explore the direction and endurance of their relationship, they must survive all the machinations of the Indian agent, who will do anything to force Jenny off the land. Readers will enjoy this western romance due to the depth and inner strength to all the good guys (and gals). Fans of the sub-genre will especially fall in love with Jenny's sibling, Cass, who will hook the audience to the point that they will clamor for her story. Dorothy Garlock fans will definitely enjoy this entertaining work from one of the grand dames of romantic fiction. Harriet Klausner
Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: Severely Dissapointed Review: This book disgusted me so much. Unlike other romances I have read, this one had no plot at all. A girl finds her sisters being mistreated, she runs away to the west, and meets a guy, they fall in love, and she helps him get better after an injury intended for his brother. It was very very "corny" (for lack of a better word). I'm sorry, but I'm an avid historian, and 99.9% of men didn't, and still don't, get all "mushy" over a woman. The ending was very dissapointing, where the brothers finally got to "get it on" with their new wives that they were so much "in love with". I found it nauseating how the two couples said the exact same words while making love, at the exact same time, in two different places. Dissapointing, and a waste of my money.
