Rating: Summary: Loved those LeVeq Men!! Review: Again Jenkins has done it with another wonderful novel. Jenkins is truly in a class all by herself with the brilliant talent that she continues to display in her elegantly written historical romance novels, and of course Through the Storm was no exception! I loved this story! Again the history talked about in this one was overwhemling. I have yet to see so much information in any book that I have read. The characters in this one are to die for! Galeno and Hester Bachon are a perfect pairing, even though I have yet to read their story,Indigo. I know it will be good! But I can not forget Bridget, Andre, Araminta, Juliana, Henri, The Brats: Drake, Archer, Phillipe, and Beau Le Veq. I loved the set up of the book, the way it was split into two halves. One of Sable and Raimond's meeting and parting, then one of their reunion! Sable and Raimond were something else together, the both of them gave as good as they got! This was truly a delightful story that I recommend everyone to read!

Rating: Summary: great historical romance......... Review: As usual, Ms. Jenkins has done her homework and presented an exciting historical romance with "positive" and uplifting images of African Americans. I always feel more amourous after reading her books. The men portrayed in her books allow you to fantasize to the utmost... Keep up the good work............Do you have an e-mail address so I can write to you........
Rating: Summary: An intriguing, stimulating, educational tour of romance. Review: Beverly Jenkins combines romance with our African American history in a way that captivates your heart while re-educating you at the same time. It's so easy to visualize the characters and walk with them through this intriguing story. I look forward to reading Topaz, which is in my library now.
Rating: Summary: Great romance novel!! Review: Beverly Jenkins has done it again!! The new novel Through the Storm won me over!! Raimond and Sable's story was funny and romantic. I was in total awe about the history in the novel. I'm ashamed to say it, but I never new about some of the history in the novel. One of the things that amazed me though was the sincerity of Raimond and Sable to take in three homeless children. That took a lot of love and courage. I doubt that most people would have done that. I have read all Mrs. Jenkin's novels and they just keep getting better and better. I can't wait for the next one. Keep up the good work!!
Rating: Summary: Another "GEM" Review: Beverly Jenkins is the only consistent African-American based historical romance novelist. She follows the formula: beautiful people, romance, sex, intrigue, some adversity with a dash of historical facts and a happy ending. It works everytime. Jenkins fans cannot wait until next book, and the next book. It was a good romance. Some members like Indigo better. They felt the story dragged after the fast paced beginning and pick up again in the camp. Some wanted more about Tubman.Great book!
Rating: Summary: Chivalry & Love Review: Beverly Jenkins once again spins a Charming tale of love, history, fact and fiction. She crafts her novels so well, weaving African belief and history. She does her research that is a fact. This was a great story, A good read.

Rating: Summary: A good, but not exceptional romance Review: Beverly Jenkins' books are special. They are rich in culture well-balanced with good storytelling. I learn something new each time I reread her books like Indigo, Vivid, Night Song, and Topaz. In Through the Storm, however, something went wrong. The history is rather heavy-handed, at times it reads like a history book. For the first half, the hero and heroine never do anything but to banter rather repetitiously, in my opinion. Maybe it's just me, but I find it less interesting than say, Indigo.
Rating: Summary: MRS. Jekins' Best Book! Review: Despite all of the hoopla over "Vivid" and "Indigo", I believe that this book is MS. Jenkins' absolute best show of her talent. It starts off with the main character, Sable, escaping from slavery. Somwehere down the road, she meets handsomeRaimond LeVeq, a union soldier. They end up together in a marriage of convience. What else happpens? You'll just simply have to read this masterpiece to find out. It is well written and the historical facts that are included make one feel as if they are watching history unfold. A salways, the surprise ending is wonderful!! Thankyou Ms. Jenkins for giving us yet another PAGETURNER!!
