Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Great Romance Novel with A Good Mystery Story Line Review: I really enjoyed Selena's first book (Rules of Engagement). I was not a fan of romance novels, but the mystery underlying the story held my interest. Based on my enjoyment of "Rules of Engagement", I jumped at the chance to experience "The Art of Desire" upon its release. Selena certainly did not disappoint me.In "The Art of Desire", Selena seems to put more emphasis on romance than on the mystery. However, the book held my interest as much as the first one did. I guess I am gradually becoming a fan of romance novels. It must have been a case of me simply having to experience the right author. I am eagerly awaiting Selena's next book. I anticipate AJ, as the main character, will get into some interesting situations. But she will have to have some awfully steamy scenes to top those we have already experienced with Raleigh & Alex. I am confident that Selena will "make it happen". Makes you wonder where Selena does her research (and who is the lucky man who gets to share in that research). Sorry, I digress. Check it out. You will love it.

Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Be prepared to be swept away! Review: I truly enoyed Ms. Montgomery's first novel, Rules of Engagement, and was therefore excited to learn she had penned another. The Art of Desire did NOT disappoint. I absolutely LOVED the book. I thought Alex was, as Adam describes her, "intriguing" when we met her in Rules, but truly she hit her stride in Art. I think that Ms. Montgomery is hitting her stride as well. This was a well written, engaging read from front to back. I've been away from the romance genre for a while, but Selena Montgomery's work encourages me to revist. Alex is no simpering wall flower, instead she's an alive, vibrant, intelligent woman. And Phillip does more than the sterwotypical tall, dark, and handsome hero who saves the day. I was able to see the characters and the action vividly and convincingly. I cheered for the love that Alex and Phillip were finding in one another. Even after I'd closed the book I wanted to see more of the couple and share in their further adventures. What better way to leave your readers than wanting more? Selena Montgomery delivers, and how.

Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: double-O - Danger and Desire Review: Selena Has Done It Again!! Former Congressman Phillip "Sphinx" Turman is trying to salvage the vestige of his life after the breakup with his fiancee and his subsequent capture and three year imprisonment in Jafir after an ISA assignment gone bad. Alex Walton is a talented but overly indulged rich girl who has a tendency to change direction in career and love quicker than a mid-season hurricane. Although Phillip and Alex both reside in D.C. it's the Atlanta based wedding of their best friends Adam "Merlin" and Raleigh "Chimera" that the Best Man and Maid of Honor meet, setting the stage for events that are bound to challenge the very essence of their existence. When Phillip picks Alex up at the airport there's an instant attraction for both, but with Phillip still nursing a wounded heart and Alex declaring a moratorium against romance they keep their interest in check, however, a near fatal accident when leaving the airport further serves to spark their flame of interest and their date with destiny. Phillip learns old enemys never die and his life as well as Alex's is in jeapordy, Atlas has enlisted him to not only keep Alex safe but return to Jafir to ensure the completion of a twenty-five year old mission. As the threat of danger heats up so does the heat between Alex and Phillip. I enjoyed going on assignment again with the ISA team, seeing the love between Raleigh and Adam growing, and witnessing the new found love of Phillip and Alex that they both needed and deserved. I look forward to reading A.J's story and since it's set in Jafir, I hope we see the new king again too. To learn more on Raleigh and Adam's story Rules of Engagement is a must read.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: A Terrific Tale! Review: Selena Montgomery adds a new chapter to the story of the ISA and its incredible agents. In The Art of Desire, we meet returning hero Phillip Turman and artist Alex Walton. Their relationship grows amidst an international plot to hide a 25 year old secret. With deft characterization and lively banter, Alex and Phillip come alive and together in this fast-paced, engaging novel. Ms. Montgomery transcends genre in a romantic suspense tale that holds the reader from first page to last!
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Shades Of Romance Review(sormag.com) Review: Selena Montgomery artfully weaves together romance with suspense in her book The Art of Desire. The beautiful Alex Walton is an artist/aspiring writer who has sworn off men after numerous of failed relationships. She excitedly begins her new journey and does not expect to get sidetracked. Then enters the handsome Phillip Thurman. Phillip Thurman is an agent who was semi-retired until hired to protect the intriguing Alex Walton. Phillip and Alex are both battling old wounds, but their attraction sparks from the moment they meet at the airport. Not only is Phillip struggling to protect her from possible terrorists, but he also struggles to protect his heart. Alex is unaware of her immediate danger and the suspense starts before they leave the airport grounds. One event after another finally lands them overseas, where Phillip and Alex battle over the truth. Phillip hones in on all of his agent skills in his attempt to save Alex's life. His greatest fear is losing her, like he lost his ex-fiance. This romantic suspense is craftily written. Some of these characters overlap from a previous Montgomery novel, Rules of Engagement and the reader is not left disappointed. If the next book is as good as these two were, then she will have another hit on her hands.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Impressive Follow-up Review: Selena Montgomery has indeed done it again! Her first novel, Rules of Engagement, skillfully blended romance and espionage into a first-rate novel about love lost and found. In this follow-up, she focuses on the best friends of the protagonists from Rules, to sublime results. Alex is quirky, smart and confused. Luckily, she knows it. It is this self-awareness that saves Alex from being yet another daffy character. And when she is paired with the haunted Phillip Turman, a charming ex-agent, the match is perfect. Phillip, like his character in Rules, is not a hero. He is a man bound by conscience to help save the world, but sometimes by bending the rules. Together, they have a sharp and sexy romance, with witty repartee and highly-charged romance. I can't wait for the next installment!
