Rating: Summary: One of my fav books!! Review: I laughed out loud at this book--but it also really touched me. Not your typical chick lit . . .and definitely the best RDI yet!
Rating: Summary: Read it... Review: I loved this book. If you like strong women, you'll enjoy this book.
Rating: Summary: What a Great Read!!! Review: I read somewhere this is Orloff's first novel. If so, move over everyone else. This book kept me turning the pages. I look forward to the next one. When? The cover says "A tale about love, publishing and doing the hustle." True! True! True! I loved it!!
Rating: Summary: This book made me smile... Review: I read this book in two days. I loved the main character. If you like "chick lit" books read this. It was a feel good book.
Rating: Summary: Absolutely Loved It! Review: I thought Spanish Disco had a great story line that captured my interest from the very first page. By the middle of the book, I couldn't put it down until I finished it. I am anxiouly awaiting the next novel by Erica Orloff!
Rating: Summary: Better than I expected! Review: I thought this was one of Red Dress Ink's best efforts so far. The heroine, Cassie, was a hoot. So many of the chic lit books are only about the endless pursuit for the perfect man. But Cassie was actually trying to run away from involvement and commitment. I found this book to be a page turner--couldn't wait to see if love would catch up to her in the end. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would highly recommend it.
Rating: Summary: Good Promise but fell Flat Review: I was excited about this book. It sounded funny and full of promise and about everything I could wish for in a great Chick Lit book; thirtysomething with men problems, job problems, the inability to cook, meals consisting of coffee and more coffee and that occasional tequila she has midmorning and at night (just to help her sleep). It was mildly humorous and some of the subplots fell short of ever developing fully and then disapeared altogether. The character herself was funny to read, but I think the problem came into play when the plot seemed to drag off and on, but enough to drag down the character too. By the end, I really didn't care what happened to her.Cassie Hayes life can't get much worse, her problems with relationships and her caffeine addiction don't make a dent in what's about to happen now. Her boss at the publishing house she works for as an editor to some of the biggest authors around is making her move in with a Pulitzer Prize winning author who turned recluse about 30 years ago to coax another winner out of him. Life gets worse when she finds out the island he lives on contains zero coffehouses, no bagels, and the nightlife is absent altogether. Not to mention his Mexican housekeeper plays disco nonstop and makes the food so hot she needs a truckload supply of Tums to keep her stomach from catching fire. As her life unravels more, her mysterious author-phone sex partner in London decides he wants to finally meet her in person after 5 years. Add on a tabloid reporter who is hounding her for dirt on the recluse, an ex-husband who plays in a band that can't get over her, an absentee mother who is trying to ruin her life and you got a recipe for disaster. Rating: Summary: Great story Review: OK, so maybe after making 28 Days, which plays fairly continuously in most rehabilitation centers, Sandra Bullock wouldn't want to play the hard-drinking heroine of this book. But it will definitely be a movie one of these days. Witty, sophisticated, a marvelous surprise for one who hasn't read a romance since since her Victoria Holt days in highschool. A character real enough to make me wonder what Cassie is up to right now in. . .but I won't spoil the surprise. This one is ripe for a sequel.

Rating: Summary: As close as RDI's ever gotten to an "anti-heroine" Review: People who've read three or more installments from Red Dress Ink know that the heroines in said novels are twenty or thirty-something-year-old career women looking for love over cocktails at trendy bars. However, Spanish Disco, RDI's newest chick lit, has a rather unique protagonist -- well, unique for RDI's standards. Thirty-three-year-old Cassie Hayes is a successful book editor whose life couldn't be messier if she'd tried. After all, she lives on her own, has no fellow-drinking gal pals to mess about with, and, despite the fact that a mysterious English writer is besotted with her, she has no interest in pursuing a relationship with anyone. But when an eccentric Pulitzer Prize-winning author gives her an offer she can't refuse, her life begins to take some unexpected turns... Erica Orloff does an excellent job in bringing Cassie to life. I was able to relate to Cassie's gripping and realistic situations. Cassie is as close as RDI's ever gotten to an "anti-heroine," for the protagonist's complex personality has a slightly darker edge. I am duly impressed with the novels that Red Dress Ink has released in the last few months. There's no doubt that this publishing house is venturing into some more literary work. I recommend this fine little gem. RDI enthusiasts won't be disappointed with this one...
