Rating: Summary: Brockway is Brilliant!!! Review: "My Dearest Enemy" was a great read. I enjoyed the characters very much..Bernard especially crept into my heart and Id LOVE to see him get a book of his own. My one complaint with this book is the patience that it requires..the h/h dont meet until after 50 pages in ...also...the one lovescene comes very late in the book..(though Ill admit its placement was appropriate). However, these quibbles aside, this really was a wonderful book and the ending was completely satisfying..Id definitely recommend this.
Rating: Summary: Only because Brockway is so good. Review: ...still not an enjoyable read. I picked this book up because the author came highly recommended to me. Perhaps this book isn't a true reflection of her other novels. While the concept of the book was interesting, I was turned off to the protagonist from the start. When the book begins, he is described as a "scarecrow". A knobby kneed, skinny, sickly boy whose main ambition in life is to gain possesion of the Mill House and to be perceived as the perfect gentleman. Later he does come back this big robust man, but the picture of a scarecrow was stuck in my mind at that point, and personally, I found him to be a bit prissy, foppish and sulky. I guess in a nutshell, in my opinion, the protagonist just wasn't "man enough" to portray the hero. And that killed whatever romance there might have been in this novel.

Rating: Summary: Connie Brockway does it again! Review: and I'm so happy she did! this isn't as dark as All Through the Night, but it's terrific in its own way. Avery is a darling, Lily is surprisingly easy to sympathize with, and I'm dying to have Ms. Brockway write Bernard's story.
Rating: Summary: Exchange of letters leads to a great love story Review: Avery Thorne receives seriously bad news. His uncle, Horatio, has just died, but instead of leaving Mill House to him, he's left it to Lily Bede, who will manage it for five years. If at the end of that time, she's made a success of it, she keeps it, otherwise it goes to Avery. During that time, Avery travels, and he and Lily bicker through letters. When they do meet, let's just say that they are not what the other expected. This is one of those beautifully written, flowing, luscious stories.
Rating: Summary: Wonderful! Review: Connie Brockway always entertains! And this one was a lot of fun. Those letters really set the stage for an exciting romance. I'll be watching for Ms. Brockway's next one!
Rating: Summary: BETTER AND BETTER Review: Connie Brockway just keeps getting better and better. While so many unimaginative authors just keep using the same old formula over and over again, Ms. Brockway manages to surprise and plot her way through one original and wonderful book after another. It's hard to say it any better than the other reviewers. . .witty, funny, fast paced, sad, happy, sexy. . .what more is there to say? This is a KEEPER!!
Rating: Summary: Be Careful When You Read This Review: Don't start it if you have anything important to do that day because you will not want to part with this story. It is a different book with a different kind of love story and there are no lulls in the story. No dry spots when you can put the book down and tend to something important to do like go to the office or buy food or shower. Find a nice quiet day when no one expects anything from you and read it. It is written so well, the characters are so delightful and honest and even though there are no really sensual love scenes it is one of the most romantic books you will read. I'd say it goes on the keeper shelf.
Rating: Summary: amusing wit Review: Excellent storyline. The letters themselves were very witty. Could read this novel many times and still chuckle.
Rating: Summary: One of my absolute favorite, so witty! Review: Great story! I've read all of Brockway's stories. Her greatest talent is that no two stories are similar, unlike so many popular authors who tell the same story over and over with different names and locations. Read this, it'll be brand new.
