Summary: I always want more!
Review: The only problem with Susan Krinard's books is that there are never enough. She comes out with a new book, I read it in two days and then I want another and this is also true with her latest book, Once A Wolf.

The interactions between the various characters is marvelous from the main characters to rescuing the young girls and the others who live in Tomas' village. I particularly enjoy the descriptions of the "change" and of the wolves running together. You can almost feel yourself running with them and see how beautiful they are. While you know in your head that this is all fantasy, the characters seem so real that you find yourself believing that there are people who can accomplish the change.

I would not and do not hesitate to recommend any of Susan Krinard's books to all of my friends.

Summary: Great Story
Review: This is another of the novels involving the three Forster siblings. Rowena has run away from her wolf heritage and is living in NY. She is engaged to Cole McLean, also a werewolf, also living as a human. Ironically, he is the person her brother wanted her to marry to begin with. Tomas is looking for revenge on Cole. Cole has killed his family and stolen everything he had. He steals something from Cole, Rowena.

This is a really entertaining story. It moves from the NY of the late 1800's to the West. The word pictures are vivid and the story very good.

Summary: I simply loved it
Review: This was the first book I've read by this auhor, but let me tell you, I was impressed. I admit, the heroine disappointed me at first with her submissive behavior toward that jerk sh eplanned to marry. It always pisses me off when women let men walk all over them. And to hear the way Cole MacLean the ways he was going to break her down just... oh, it gets me so angry. But then it adds to the gradification I got at the end when she'd finally learn to stand up to him.
Now, the hero -Tomas- he is such a hunk. He treats Rowena so nicely, yet manage to infuriate her at the same time. The tension between the hero and herione was pretty obvious. I especially loved the scene at the water fall, where Tomas watch her bathe in wolf formed and then... (chuckle)
The ways Tomas tries to help Rowena learn to accept herself was very touching. I loved their relationship. It was beautifful.
However, the character that intrigue me most was Sim. Sim's this character who's kind of brooding, dark, and cynical of women because he's been hurt in the past. I've read a lot of books where the hero is portrayed to be dark and dangerous, but then he doesn't really do anything wretched or mean. But Sim, he was not a disappointment. It amused me how he constantly threatens the herione to stay away from his friend, he cause he doesn't want Tomas hurt. He was really mean, but as a reader, I find myself drawn to him, wanting to understand more. I keep looking for his name among the review lists but it never came up. That's why I'm writing this. I find his fleeting relationship with Felicity so much more...er... engaging than that of Tomas and Rowena. And boy did that revelation about him at the end surprised me. I hope miss Krinard'll write a story for him, too.

Summary: Great paranormal romance
Review: Unable to heed her brother Braden's orders to marry a fellow werewolf for the good of the Cause (see TOUCH OF THE WOLF), Lady Rowena Forster fled England for America. By 1878, Rowena is tutoring young ladies in New York City and engaged to wealthy financier Cole MacLean. However, Cole's enemy Tomas "El Lobo" Randall has other plans for Rowena. While Cole is away on business, Tomas persuades Rowena to head West to save the life of her twin brother Quentin.

However, now that the outlaw El Lobo has hidden Cole's fiancee in the middle of New Mexico Territory, he finds himself mesmerized by her. Instead of an aloof society lady, she, like him, is a werewolf allowing her animalistic nature to surge through her heart. As Tomas and Rowena fall in love, Cole follows them because no one steals a possession of his, especially his family's long time enemy.

ONCE A WOLF, the second tale in Susan Krinard's historical werewolf romantic trilogy, is a wonderful supernatural story. The story line takes loup garou elements and successfully plants them inside a western romance. The lead couple is a warm blooded duo while the support cast provides insight into the era as well as enhancing the paranormal elements. Fans of werewolf romances or western romances will fully enjoy Ms. Krinard's blending of the two sub-genres into an exciting novel.
