Summary: Charming and lovely !
Review: This is a light-hearted romance with a strong female lead. The book has a refreshing start with an interesting plot. Lily who translates complicated messages for the war department acts like a typical flirts during all the parties. Her acting career which can be quite funny throughout different parts of the book is at risk when she faces her 'crush' Miles. They quickly realize at least the physcial attraction between the two of them. The description of Miles, the Duke of Remmington is quite exciting in the beginning. However, he did not grow on me as the story went on. All the secondary characters are interesting and have potential for their own stories. Although Lily is depicted as very intelligent and quick wit, her lack of understanding of the relationship between the sexes were a little annoying at times, espcially during the wedding night. You would think by then she would have figure it out? Miles did not really develop much throughout the story. His experience and background and its effect on his personality was not really explained. One thing that was a little disappointing was the way Lily handled or did not handled the distant situation after their marriage. It would seem that for a strong heroine, she would certainly have taken things into her own hands and show Miles a thing or two about 'Love'... Still, this book was a very pleasant read for a hot afternoon.

Summary: a good book
Review: This is the third book I've read from this author and I must say I've enjoyed all her books. The other two were the "Warlord" and "Bethrohed" Both were ancestors of the hero in this book. Miles Montague, Duke of Remington.

The book is the story of the beautiful Lady Lily and the Duke, Miles. They are involved in very dangerous work for the War Department and this puts their lives in danger and throws them together. Remington saves Lily and agrees that to keep her safe he will pose as her escort. Lily has secretly loved him from afar for years but thought he had never noticed her. Nothing could be farther from the truth. Remington had noticed her and when the chance came to protect her and court her he leaps at it. He swears that he is not in love with her, that love is a silly stupid emotion but he soon finds that he is wrong on both counts.
Together they must find a traitor and find love. I really enjoyed this book and hope that the author writes more with this family line. I would love to read a book about Miles's brother Trevor.

Summary: Almost perfect...
Review: This was a very good book. It was refreshing to read an historical novel where the woman actually had brains and showed them. Also, it was nice to see characters act the way you would really expect them to in real life. The build up to the romance and the romance was great. The characters were well developed and the plot plausible. The only reason I did not give the book 5 stars is because around the last quarter of the book, it appears as if the author was rushing the story to end it. One romance between some supporting characters was hinted at but nothing came of it in the book. I would have liked to have seen a resolution there. And a few other events happened very quickly as if they were rushed. But aside from that, I would recommend the book to anyone wanting to read a very good historical romance novel.

Summary: Not bad...
Review: This was pretty formula stuff- lots of the same old, same old (Oh-so-brave Virgin heroine is paired with disillusioned, handsome, rake hero, etc. etc.) But I'm criticizing it too much. It really was quite good. I picked it up every spare minute I had. Lily was charming - young, selfless, and a very imaginative liar. (It made her fun!) Remmington was dark, sexy and so attracted to Lily he could hardly function. The spy plot was exciting and I did like the book but....I'm not sure I'll remember it in 6 months.
