Summary: Nice Story! But Start At the Beginning!
Review: I found this book AFTER I'd read the Springwater Series (four small books, each about an individual character). I found references in those books to this, so went in search of this book. This book set the stage for the Springwater Series. But it is never too late to go back and gain the history! I recommend reading this book, then the Springwater Series, then finish off with Springwater Christmas! I have also seen that a new book, Springwater Wedding is coming out in 2001! I am impatiently waiting for that book to arrive, and I probably won't be able to wait for the soft covered version.... Because I enjoy this author and this particular series soooo much!!!

Summary: Inspiring and entertaining
Review: I found this book to be a very entertaining little read. If you're looking for a complex plot or deep philosophical discussion, look elsewhere. This is pure entertainment for those days when your brain has been used enough already! I also found that it inspired me to do my housekeeping, which is a minor miracle. I hate housecleaning, but reading how Evangeline "made-do" with the meager supplies and accomadations she had while being so isolated with her daughter gave me a new perspective. I'm looking forward to the rest of this series.

Summary: Fast moving, easy read
Review: I found this book to be very entertaining. It was a fast and easy read. The characters blended well together and the love interest was deep and with morals.

Summary: Twiddle, twiddle, twiddle......
Review: Ok, so I agree with the reader from California. There is way too much dialogue about "twiddling" and the frequent trips to the outhouse. This is the filler that could have been left out. Other than that, this is a good beginning novel from Ms. Miller. This is the first of her books that I've read, and I'll soon begin reading the four Springwater Seasons novellas, etc. Even if you don't get to the next six books, I'd recommend Springwater itself. It's a fast read, as well as a great love story.

Summary: An enjoyable read...
Review: Springwater was a very enjoyable read. Evangeline arrives in Springwater with the intentions of marrying Big John who is the cousin of her recently departed husband. When Scully rides up to the station she learns that Big John had to leave town & is not expected back until Spring. Scully is Big John's partner & has promised to look out for Evangeline & her daughter until Big John arrives. Evangeline & Scully quickly realize that they wish to marry each other but neither one is willing to break their promise to Big John. What happens when Big John arrives? You'll have to read to find out. I highly recommend this book. Although it is not a steamy romance it's a good story & a fast read. It is the first book in the Springwater series.

Summary: A very tender, loving story with wonderful characters
Review: The book began a bit slowly, but even at first I really liked the two characters, Evangeline and Scully. Not only is their self discipline tested, but also the elements try them. But true love and devotion prevail. I was sorry to come to the end of the book and look forward to reading Rachael, the next book.

Summary: Extremely disapointing
Review: This book just never got going. There was no spark between the main characters, they could have been anyone. I have read all of Millers' earlier books and I really feel that this one doesn't even come close to the rest.
