Rating: Summary: Another Great Interracial Story! Review: This is my 5th novel by Kitt and she scores again with me. When a white male cop shoots, and almost kills, an innocent bystander black female, in a crossfire with drug suspects, an unusual bond is forged between the two people. They form a relationship they both feel impelled towards, although neither the police department nor her lawyer want the two to see one another at all. A lawsuit will have to flow from this event, which will make the cops in New York city look racist. I thought this was a very unusual story idea and Kitt managed to make it convincing and believable. Meanwhile, the criminal forces unleashed during the crossfire continue to menace the lead characters. Kitt also does kids well and the cop's daughter is a very good character trying to work out her adolesence after her parents' divorce. Signet also gives Kitt great graphic covers for her novels, depicting the characters. These are very reader-friendly for drawing a mixed-race audience. The cover subtly conveys the mixed races which photographs, used on her earlier books, did not. Kitt also wrote the equally terrific "The Color Of Love" and "Between Friends." You can't go wrong with this author.
Rating: Summary: Excellent thought provoking book. Review: This is my second Sandra Kitt title, the first was The Color of Love. The story is current and interesting. The police involved in an accidental shooting and how this can be used or misused. I really enjoyed the fact that two sides: the police and the black victims were shown without bias. I also enjoyed that the romance developed slowly and in a logical manner. A great deal went on in this book but it was fast paced and kept my interest. If you are looking for a nice summer read this is the book for you.
Rating: Summary: Awesome Review: This was a great book about a complicated relationship between a man and a woman. Several things make it complicated. One is the fact that the man is a police officer in NY and the woman is someone who was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Another thing that makes this relationship complicated is that the police officer is white and the woman is black. Sandra Kitt handles this with relative ease and makes this book worth reading. Excellent!!
Rating: Summary: I loved this Book! Review: This was my second book by Sandra Kitt (The Color of Love being the first) and it was just as good as the first, if not better. The characters were realistic (meaning flawed and human -- not perfect)and the story well researched as well. I look forward to more books by this author. Bravo, Ms. Kitt!

Rating: Summary: 5,000,000 stars! Review: What can I say?! Do I even need to write a review for Ms. Kitt?! I've read almost all of her books and I can't put them down they're just that good---great!!! My only thing is that she needs to walk away from the policeman--New York theme, I would like to see our male characters have a different occupation sometime. But that is no reason to not still give this book 5 stars. A million handshakes to Ms. Kitt for her outstanding work, please continue.

Rating: Summary: Romantic and Suspenseful.... Review: When Carol Taggart is accidentally shot, Lee is one of the policemen at the scene. Also, he may have been the shooter. His concern for Carol, draws him into visiting her. His visits draw him into a relationship that develops into something more.Carol and Lee are strong characters; each has a deep belief in their own selves, as well as each other. Only natural doubts, cause their friendship/relationship to falter...and interference from secondary characters. These characters, Carol's ex, and a brother, Lee's daughter, and fellow cops, as well as some "bad guys" help to add to the suspense of this page-turning read. This is one special read--sexy, as well as romantic and suspenseful...
Rating: Summary: A Great Book, But the Climax is Somewhat Unrealistic Review: While walking her dog,Carol Taggart is caught in the cross fire of a police sting gone awry. She is accidentally shot and almost killed by possibly one of two police officers. During her recovery, Carol and police lieutenant Lee Grafton find them-selves mutually drawn and attracted to each other. Complicating matters is the fact that Carol is black, Lee is a white policeman who stongly suspects he fired the bullet that struck Carol during the sting. Sandra kitt does a wonderful job of bringing all of the characters to life. The interactions between Carol and Lee are are sexy yet tender and romantic. However like some readers', I did feel that Carols's actions following her 2nd attack were not logical. As a result this does hamper the climax some. But despite that, this is a great story about an often overlooked subject-interracial relationships. This book would make a great movie if a good screenwriter gets hold of it. I picture Vivica Fox and Richerd Gere as Carol and Lee.
