Rating: Summary: Prince of Wolves Review: I'm an animal lover and adore the majestic beauty of wolves. I also love reading paranormal romances and had not read one about wolves/werewolves before. This is a delightful novel that kept me entraced from page 1 until the end. Luc is a handsome, misunderstood hero and Joelle (Joey) is the perfect mate for him. Susan Krinard does a wonderful job of weaving this tale.
Rating: Summary: Magical. I loved it, and will read it again. Review: If you love supernatural romances, like I do, I recommend all of Susan Krinard's books, especially "Prince of Wolves," and "Prince of Shadows." I will not lend either book, they're both keepers.
Rating: Summary: Huge disappointment Review: In a romance we like to see the characters develop love and commitment, get to know each other. She tries to use him for her own purposes, and he wants to shtum her. Easy enough. Sort of lacks depth and decency though. We have two abortive romance scenes, and then once they do 'it' they boink like bunnies all over the place. (like 380 pages into the book to the last 50 pages or so) We never get a full explanation of why he is so afraid of her and there is not a lot going on in the book apart from pages and pages of sexual tension. We never get any real depth from either of them as to their motives and feelings. Then we find out he has tricked her into staying because he has special powers he uses on her. And that she happens to have special powers too. So why do they both nearly get killed and have to 'save' each other to prove the depth of their love? It goes on for ages 'til we find out! You really have to suspend your disbelief on this one. Still, for a first novel it was good. With a better editor and more discipline it might have been excellent.

Rating: Summary: Disappointing werewolf tale Review: It's a good thing for Krinard that I read "Prince of Shadows" first. Had I picked this one up first, I doubt I would have finished reading it, nor would I have purchased any of her others. I found it very slow, though it did pick up quite a bit in the last 30 or so pages. I had to wade through more than 400 to get to that point, though. The premise was somewhat interesting --great-looking girl looks for place of parents' plane crash in British Columbia with the help of a real he-man who has forgotten to mention that he's also a wolf. Well, at least part of the time. And, oh, by the way the heroin is a . . . Well, I'll leave the finding of that one up to the reader should you decide to tackle this book.
Rating: Summary: Contemporary werewolf romance Review: Joelle Randall goes to the Canadian rockies to confront her past, to find the place where her parents disappeared in a plane crash accident years ago. There she meets Luke Gevaudan, a mysterious man who is shunned and feared by the locals. Luke is a French Canadian and is also a werewolf. He's a loner and lives by himself in a cabin high up in the mountains. Joelle hires him to guide her through the rockies to find the crash site. During their trip, Joelle slowly finds herself attracted to Luke, despite his dangerous traits. Luke is a well known womaniser and has a reputation for charming the ladies to his cabin but noone knows what happens to these ladies afterwards. In Joelle he has found his soul mate and is afraid to fall in love with her because of the consequences. Once a werewolf finds his soul mate, he will be attached to her forever. Can Joelle and Luke keep going on denying their attraction for each other despite their growing feelings? This book is full of atmosphere and sexual tension. All of Susan Krinard's werewolves are devilishly attractive and handsome. They always hide a hidden past and Luke is no exception. There is loads of suspense and you will find yourself urging on Luke and Joelle to get together. Joelle is reluctant at first to fall for Luke until she finds a softer side in him. This is a great read and I definitely recommend it to all romance readers. Lealing
Rating: Summary: An intriguing world of werewolves and romance! Review: Like an earlier reader who posted here, I also bought this book after I read and enjoyed THE FOREST LORD. This book PRINCE OF WOLVES is another engrossing read with a fully realized world and characters you can care about. I guess I like those gruff alpha men (like Luke) because I didn't think he was too much at all. I loved him! And Joelle was also a heroine to root for. I'm glad to know this is part of a series and I definitely plan to read the whole grouping. Wonderful romance, and a wonderful world to explore beyond our own! Don't miss it!
Rating: Summary: MAKES YOU WANT TO SEARCH YOUR OWN HEART!! Review: Luke and Joey, destined to be mates forever, goes through many obstacles to discover what really matters in life. Truly emotional experience. I laughed, I cried, I felt totally involved with the characters. You'll cry, you'll laugh..you will love...
Rating: Summary: Prince of Wolves Review: Okay, so I'm a wolf lover, as you can tell by my email. That, and being a romance reader and book reviewer may have made me pick this book up, but had nothing to do with being unable to put it down until I was finished reading it. The author uses the wolf, or werewolf, as a catalyst to expose the deep emotions and passions, the total power of all the senses that we, as humans really carry inside of all of us. By shifting her characters from human to wolf form, Ms. Krinard touches on and exposes the true nature and drama that churns inside all of us; to tap into the hidden powers that are deep within. When we want to touch or explain the most savage, most passionate emotions inside us, we project through the use animals to explain the behavior or to relate to the wildness of sheer instinct or need. The wolf may be used as a backdrop for supernatural powers in her stories, but her real talent and expertise is getting to the very core of human nature, with the wolf acting only as a means to entice you there. To tease you into accepting the fear of the unknown and make you explore further, anyway. What she does superbly, is expose the deepest, rawest emotions and the reactions to discovery of them, be it pain, love, hate, hunger, desire, good, evil or just blinding need or lust. She takes you inside the minds and hearts of her characters while taking them on a journey of discovery, exploring their fears and weaknesses, but also desire and need. She brings you to the very core of their existance, then brings them to their knees with the power for survival, love and hate. With strength, dignity and love, they struggle to rise above all, without compromising or losing who and what they were and allows them grow, to become. Joelle and Luke take this journey, each wanting to discover where their lives fit in, or why they've hidden from it. Can Luke, a true loner, ever let his guard down and accept trust or love and share it with another? Can Joelle find the answers and strength from the past she's run from all her life? Is there really such a thing as werewolves, or even true love? I recommend reading Ms. Krinard's book to learn the answers for yourself. All of her's, actually. You never know what you may learn about yourself, or just what she might be capable of making you believe in. ;-)
Rating: Summary: Boring, boring, boring... Review: Seriously, this book is dull it just goes on and on about nothing. There is some major fear or problem that is alluded to if the characters were to get together romantically, but it is never really explained. I got a little over half way through and just couldn't waste any more time on this. I've never abandoned a book and most romances take me no longer than a day to finish, but after 2.5 weeks I just couldn't force myself to read anymore. If you like paranormal try vampires with Christine Feehan - those are all awesome books.
