Rating: Summary: A Captivating Romance! Review: "Prince of Wolves" by Susan Krinard is a hauntingly romantic and affecting tale that paranormal romance and straight romance readers will not want to miss. Krinard writes a compelling tale, filled with rich and intriguing characters and breathtaking descriptions that make you feel like you're right there alongside the characters.Joelle Randall has come to Lovell, British Columbia, a small town nestled in the rugged Canadian Rockies, to search for the site where her parents' plane crashed years ago. She has never been able to put her parents to rest, and hopes that finding their crash site and saying goodbye will finally allow her to move on with her life. But due to the harsh and treacherous terrain, Joey needs a guide to take her on her journey, and the only person she can find who might be able to do the job is Luke Gévaudan, a dangerously handsome loner who is regarded by the people of Lovell with suspicion and distrust. But Luke is no ordinary man. The power that clings to him like a second skin is overwhelmingly apparent to Joey, though she would never guess its source. For Luke is a legend come true, one of the last survivors remaining of an ancient race of werewolves, majestic and noble creatures that put to shame the ridiculous werewolf stereotypes of the past. And Luke has noticed Joey in a way he has noticed no woman before her. Something about her calls to Luke, tempting him to take her and make her his mate. But as Luke gets to know Joey, and discovers what a sweet, sensitive, yet strong and determined woman she is, he resolves to let her have her freedom. But Joey is nothing if not persistent, and she finally convinces Luke to take her where she needs to go. As these two go on their journey, the walls that Luke was determined to keep up around himself begin to break down, as he discovers a deep and powerful connection between himself and Joey. The romance these two share is expertly rendered by Krinard, full of heart-pounding passion and aching tenderness that will keep readers utterly enthralled. As Joey finds out more and more about the dark and mysterious Luke, instead of being afraid, she falls hopelessly in love. Luke too has lost his heart to Joey, but he is desperately afraid that now that he has allowed himself to love, that Joey will abandon him. But when Joey is injured and must stay at the small hidden village of Luke's people, Val Cache, Luke makes a terrible mistake. Joey doesn't know about Luke's betrayal, but when she finds out will she ever be able to forgive him? Is the love Joey feels real enough and strong enough to conquer anything? Or will Luke lose everything because of his lack of faith in the woman he loves? "Prince of Wolves" is a wonderfully satisfying tale that left me sighing with pleasure. Luke and Joey were an unforgettable couple, and I was totally wrapped up in their story. Susan Krinard has an undeniable talent for paranormal romance, and manages to make the unbelievable completely realistic and plausible. I highly recommend "Prince of Wolves", so buy it today and enjoy!

Rating: Summary: The most fascinating book I have read in a long time. Review: After first discovering this book at the public library I simply had to read the rest of Susan Krinard's books. I have even written the author (the first time I've ever considered doing that). The descriptions are wonderful and I think I felt every emotion that Luke and Joey felt through the whole book. I have added it to my collection, have read it twice and have no doubt that I will do it again.
Rating: Summary: Prince of Wolves Review: Being an avid wolf lover and romance book reviewer made me pick up this book. Ms. Krinard's talent and style, along with her clear, precise knowledge of wolves and people, kept me engrossed until the end of the book. Her expertise is laying the foundations of her characters and cutting right to their minds and the heart of their emotions. She uses the wolf (or werewolf) as a backdrop for her books, capturing their spirit, essence, power and mystery. She uses the beast for comparison of the power of all the senses and the wildness of desires, needs and instincts that we all have within us. She delves deep into the minds and hearts of her characters, dragging every emotion out of them, only to bring them to their knees during the struggle to survive, protect, overcome fear, avenge hate and even search for love. Joelle ran from her past, then confronts it, along with her fears and weaknesses, hoping to overcome them and find her inner strength and go on. Luke is the ultimate loner, unable to let down his guard and allow trust and love in his life while hiding his secret. Ms. Krinard takes them through a journey of discovering where each fits into the bigger picture. In spite of little chance for the two to survive the dangers they can pose to the other, the attraction cannot be denied. She places them at odds with intensity, sensuality and a constant inner battle not to give in to the animal urges and basic instincts to come together. Ultimately, they have to team up and learn trust if either is to survive the adventure. Krinard has a unique style and flair for capturing every emotion and using it to expose each strength, fear and weakness of her characters, only to bring them to their knees during the struggle to survive. Then she uses those very emotions to make them rise above their obstacles with dignity and reinvent themselves without losing what they were before. Do werewolves really exist? Is there really true love? Is there really a chance of finding one's soulmate and recognizing them before it's too late? I recommend reading Prince Of Wolves, as well as all Ms. Krinard's books to find out for yourself. You never know what you might learn about true human nature or yourself by the way she superbly uses emotions and her characters to tell her wonderful tales of fantasy. You never know just what she might may make you believe in. ;-)
Rating: Summary: Werewolf Romance at its Best! Review: I found Susan Krinard's books quite by accident. At the local ubs I was in a "vampire" mood and came across Prince of Dreams by Susan which was the story of a vampire told in a very unique way. Although I did enjoy the story - enough for me to search out her other titles, nothing prepared me for Prince of Wolves. A hauntingly beautiful love story that will stay with you for a very long time. Susan's writing is extremely detailed, very informative and flows quite easily. Her stories are longer than most but I consider that a plus! Prince of Wolves is a story about werewolves, as a race. It is also about love and happily ever after but more importantly it is the story of possibilities. This is not some far-fetched, way out there type book about some evil beings... it is well-written and almost (I do stress the almost) makes you want to believe in the possibility of a race of this kind. Intense and powerful with a plot that will continually surprise you. Joelle Randall was a strong heroine with normal human weaknesses. She had beauty, grace and intelligence (a requirement in every heroine as far as I am concerned) but what she also had was faith. Her trust in what could not be possible gave her a sort of inner glow that was both positive and alluring. Luke Gévaudan. Well what can you say about a man that is part wolf... Sexy doesn't cover it! He was a legend come true and he made you believe in the impossible! He was clever, he was strong and loving and power just oozed out of his pores. I absolutely fell in love with everything about this book. All of the characters, main, secondary, villain... everyone played an important role and each voice was crucial to the story. Susan has a unique way of blending a story together and thankfully this book has sequels! Prince of Shadows, Touch of the Wolf and Once a Wolf. If you're in the mood for something wild, read Prince of Wolves!

Rating: Summary: I can only say "TERRIFIC" Review: I have read Sue Krinard's Prince of Wolves and I can't say enough about this book. I usually read my Romance Novels while I do my treadmill, and I actually did an extra 2 miles because I didn't want to stop reading. This book has everything a Romance Reader could possibly want in a book...I couldn't put it down. I recommend it to anyone who loves romance.
Rating: Summary: I couldn't put it down. Review: I started this book over coffee early one Sunday morning. When I finished, I hadn't put lunch or dinner on. My father had to fin for himself. It was truly gripping.
Rating: Summary: Huge disappointment Review: I'd read The Forest Lord and really liked it, so I ordered this book. Good thing I didn't read this first or I'd never had read another Krinard book. This book was such drivel I can't believe it earned 4 1/2 stars out of 22 reviews. The romantic lead, "Luke", is such a totally unlikeable, one-dimensional, nasty character nobody could love him even a bit. And there was no chemistry in the love scenes, they were downright dry. The interesting mystery about Joey's missing parents could have been the saving grace, but it was a total dead end. There is really nothing I can recommend about this book. I would recommend Christine Feehan's Dark series or Sherilyn Kenyon's work if you like fantastical romance, lovespell etc.
Rating: Summary: Prince of Wolves Review: I'm an animal lover and adore the majestic beauty of wolves. I also love reading paranormal romances and had not read one about wolves/werewolves before. This is a delightful novel that kept me entraced from page 1 until the end. Luc is a handsome, misunderstood hero and Joelle (Joey) is the perfect mate for him. Susan Krinard does a wonderful job of weaving this tale.
