Summary: You got ta be kiddin' me...
Review: Okay, I admit I am only about half way through this book, but I just had to vent! I can't believe the average rating on this book is five stars. I am fine with the heroine and even the storyline (I've decided to overlook the fact that Houston's twin sister pretty much stabbed her in the back by doing something UNTHINKABLE toward the beginning of the book and the characters did nothing more than bicker about it a couple of times). Kane, the "hero" (and I use that term loosely) in this book, is ridiculous. How can anyone picture this guy as being attractive? I can't get passed the fact that he uses phrases like, "You ain't gonna..." I have a very hard time making myself believe that he was smart enough to earn all of his money, let alone romance someone like Houston. His "charms" aren't working on me!

A little variety is nice when it comes to heroes, but I think Ms. Deveraux has gone a little too far with this one. If you like heroes who are tall, dark, handsome AND INTELLIGENT, I'd pass on this one...or as Kane would say, "Pass on this un'"

Summary: Twin of Ice & Twin of Fire--2 must read books!!
Review: This is the first of two books written about Houston and Blair Chandler. In "Twin of Ice," Houston is engaged to be married to Dr. Lee Westfield. Her sister comes home from Pennsylvania to be in Houston's wedding. BUT Houston has other things on her mind. Like seeing the inside of Kane Taggert's really big house! So, Houston convinces Blair to take her place on a date with Lee, while she goes to see Kane's house. Things progress rather rapidly for both couples from there on thru the end of the sister book, "Twin of Fire". In my opinion, you can't read one and not read the other one. "Twin of Fire" brings everything in a circle and finishes two stories that begin in "Twin of Ice."

Summary: One of Deveraux's best
Review: This was the first book of Deveraux's that I ever read. Now, I've read all her books so far, and I can still say that this is one of her best. She created two great characters and really knows how to pace a story. As with most of her novels, her sense of humor shines through. The companion book Twin of Fire is not as good, but still worth reading.

Summary: Kane & Houston are adorable!
Review: TWIN OF ICE is one of my all-time favorite books written by Jude Deveraux. I find myself picking it up anytime I want to smile. Kane is not your typical hero (but none of Jude's heroes are typical, are they?). He is extremely wealthy with the manners of a pig. But Houston makes him appear to be the great man he is inside. And in return Kane brings out the fun-loving, spirited woman who is thought to be an ice princess by others. The dialogue is hilariious and spirited. Overall, it is defintely a keeper.
